West literally beat Rhea and the refs. Congrats to the Rebels. Actually Rhea and Pemberton did make some outstanding adjustments at the half, but unfortunately it was way overshadowed by the completely inept refereeing. Horrible officiating. If I was Cummings I would've lost. Glad that wasn't Gaddis that had to endure that. He may very well have stroked out lol Congrats WH4L!! Get that elusive gold ball!!!

Refs aside...

I heard a player and a couple of west's staff talking about rhea's physicality and how we were the most physical team they had and will face all year. Honestly I didn't see that at all in the first half. Rhea was not playing inspired at all. West was so much faster, and if you ask me they were much more physical. Their backs were falling forward even when rhea's D had clean shots on them. My friends and I were discussing how West just seemed like they were too good. Rhea didn't come to play in the first half, and didn't look like they believed. Cut to the second half...

Rhea came out playing hard and fast; smashing mouths and controlling the scrimmage line. They were definitely the more physical team. West still had a speed advantage, but rhea was staying with them stretching out plays and JUST catching their backs on the corners before they broke loose. Playing inspired and believing they could win Rhea was the team they had been all year.

The refs most definitely took points right off the board from west, and who knows what else they effected as compared to what should have or should not have been called. But regardless of the score or what it should have been, rhea showed me they belong in that game and gave west more than they wanted in that second half. And it says a lot that all of rhea's key players play both ways, and all of west's only pay one side. In a close game I honestly believe that would have been a deciding factor. I only wish our boys would have played more inspired in the first. Given that, I don't believe they need the refs to keep them in this game.

West is an amazing team and will be a joy to cheer for in the finals.

Appreciate you giving our team its props. We have been under-rated, doubted, and disrespected all season. We are proud of our team. As for West, you have a talented team. Hope you take home the hardware next Friday.

I'm proud of my guys in green and gold. This senior class was special and a very talented group of young men that stuck together for all 4 years. This was a special season for Rhea and one that dosn't come around too often. Thank you seniors I still remember the first day of practice as freshmen when I was on that staff and watching guys these last 4 years has been a pleasure. You guys gave it your all tonight espcially in the 2nd half you didn't quit and you guys kept fighting and made it alot fun. Now if spring practice could just hurry up so we can start another incredible run next fall.

Knox West good luck next firday night against Hillsboro.

Hey RCEF, I didn't mean to come across as a west guy. I played on rhea county's 92-95 teams. That was just my honest assessment of the game.

It was a good assessment. Didnt think you were West fan, just thought you were offering commentary on the game. It has been tough to watch this team dismissed week after week on here. They deserve more respect than they have gotten.

Ball game should have been at minimum 35-0 at half with a running clock to start the 2nd half. Period! Say what you want but the idiots in stripes kept Rhea in the game! And I don't even like West!

I will respectfully disagree with you on this. Rhea's halftime adjustments kept them in the game. The refs werent winning any popularity contests on the home side tonight, trust me.

    • Eagleville hosting shows laziness on the part of the TSSAA and a complete disregard for the appearance of impartiality. Absolutely nothing against EHS. Its not their fault TSSAA is lazy.    I understand EHS staff work the games at Eagleville, and they don’t want to miss the EHS games. However this isn’t rocket science. It would take less than 1 hour to cross-train EHS and RHS volunteers at the opposite sites. If Eagleville (or any host)  makes the tournament, flip their game site and have the volunteers flip sites for the days their school plays at the opposite site. Magically the school’s fans would be present to watch the their kids play and the kids at least lose some familiarity and home field advantage.  It takes almost no effort and is a ~15 minute extra drive.
    • Great to have Coach Peek back !
    • We feel the pain!
    • Jason Lambert should be the only choice for the Baseball coaching position.
    • From the stats I found online it looks like Gabe Eddington- .484, 44 total hits, 43 runs scored and 42 stolen bases.Meanwhile, on the mound, the Austin Peay commit had a record of 8-2, while compiling 50 innings pitched with an ERA of 1.82. Carson Parrott - 7-0 overall as a starting pitcher with a 1.41 ERA, 95 strikeouts and a save in 53 and 1/3 innings pitched. Parrott hit .392 with 3 home runs, 21 RBIs with a .566 OBP and .716 SLG. Jaxon Walker - .454, 53 hits, 38 RBI’s, 9 HRs.   Not saying the other three aren’t deserving but Quillen had better BA than all three and was just as dominate pitching.  Like I said I don’t know how you leave off the 3a Baseball player of the year last year when he put up better numbers.  I know Greeneville’s Coach wasn’t happy about it saying “I don’t give a s*** what anybody else says. That kid is the best player in Tennessee, and everybody else on our team rises to his level“.  I’m sure winning another State Championship as a junior is more important to Carson than the individual award, it’s just a head scratcher to not be nominated
