Bill#49
Please forgive me Clement Clarke Moore Twas the night before THE STATE CHAMPIONSHIP when all through the land Not a creature was stirring, not even The Pride of The Valley Band. The helmets were hung by the lockers with care, In hopes that game day soon would be there. The players were nestled all snug in their beds, While visions of pick 6's danced in their heads. And Coach Ross in the film room and I at my desk, Had just settled down for a 5 minute rest. When out on the field there arose such a clatter, I sprang from my chair to see what was the matter. Away to the window I flew like a flash, Tore open the blinds and threw up the sash. The moon on the top of the new-fallen rain (LOL) Gave the luster of mid-day to objects below. When, what to my wondering eyes should appear, But Zeman and Tuders, in full on game gear. With a little old coach, running play after play, I knew right away it was the ghost of Coach Colquette. Faster than lightning his curses they came, And he whistled, and shouted, and yelled out the plays! "Now run! now block! now screen and touchdown! On, first! On, second! On, third and fourth downs. To the top of the post! to the left of the hash! Now dash away! Through that d-line with a crash!" As Warriors before them they could suddenly fly, When they met with an obstacle, up at the line. So up to Shoe all the players they flew, With a team full of heroes; seniors, juniors, sophomores, and freshmen too. And then, in a twinkling, the day had arrived, The prancing skunk Golden Tide boys were in front of our eyes. As was drawn on my board, and seen on my tapes, Down with that team, wipe the smiles off their face. The Warrior dressed in his swag, from his head to his foot, And his clothes were all sharp and his weapons how sharp. A bundle of footballs he had flung on his back, And he looked like a Winner, with a scowl on his face. The Whistle how loud blew with such glee, Their cleats were all white, and their flags were all flying! Their chisled bodies were ready for a fight, no man of Tide would ever prevail, And the red in their eyes was a sign for what was to be. The chunks of yardage that Zemen, Deion, and Brooks will gain, Will only disgust the young lads in Black and Gold. As each parent sits in the stands to cheer their young men on, You can feel the pride that fills their heart as another Golden Ball comes home! As I watch Tuders, Willis, Baxter and Henderson take care of the defense, And I laughed when I saw Peabody players fight and curse in delight with myself! A quick 3 and out with a shake of his head, Soon led me to know I had nothing to dread. He ran not a run, but went straight to the pass, Bryce Massengale was on target, I grabbed my camera to keep a memory of the fifth golden ball coming to MCHS. And laying his palm atop his forehead, Coach Woods finally conceded that his dream job was just a nightmare! I sprang to my feet, as the ref gave a whistle, And the Warriors had rushed past the line like missile. That's when I heard them shout out with glee, WARRIORS 36, that team out west zero. Best of Luck - Go Warriors!
BLACKFRIDAY
I'm a believer in The Ross Factor, but what about The Rain Factor? Non factor. We took all the passes out of the playbook.

Footballforall
Rain equals wet jerseys. Which equals little quick tidemen slippin away from tacklers.
