In one word, what makes Maryville so good?

auto correct and yes its very legal. My point is if the city of Maryville was located where Cookeville, Crossville, Manchester, In say Rhea County away from a large urban area.....would be much harder to move your family there to play. Maryville has the best of all three things you need....very good talent base in the area, a great history with great support, and a great coaching staff. Some schools have one maybe two of those, but no one has all three at the level that Maryville does.

Wasn't Cookeville top player last season a move in? Cookeville is one of the largest schools in the state. Not buying it.

Red Rebels is correct I am a fan of Franklin county Rebels in Winchester TN. Just saying that it could be that a lot of money support helps keep a great program together such as coaches and facilities. I believe that Maryville is doing it right my hats off to those that make it happen no sour grapes here.

Then....I retract my question. Thanks for clarifying.

I can name two right off the top of my head: Aaron Douglas and Dylan Jackson. Whoopty doo! Not illegal to move.

I never said it was. In fact, I get the impression that you think I was implying that. Just the opposite. I was supporting you guys. Another poster made comment of the players that supposedly were moving from Knoxville as if there was some mass exodus of players. Stars challenged him to name them and I responded that he still didn't in spite of his response.

I grow tired of hearing all the people complainf of supposed open zone and recruiting as I am sure Maryville fans do. We deal with people saying the same thing about Alcoa down in 3a. I tell all the people who want to cry about it to spend that time getting better and don't worry about it. Please don't bite my head off when I actually support you all.

"According to Ensworth (Nashville, Tenn.) Head Coach Ricky Bowers, Top247 defensive back Rico McGraw will announce his college destination in a signing ceremony at his school around 11:15 a.m. ET on Wednesday. He will do so with eight other teammates. List of schools in consideration at this time are Georgia or Alabama"...................Would love to see Maryville and Ensworth start a yearly series.

I wasn't trying to imply anything illegal either as stated before. Just poining out that the lots of the best football athletes find their way into the best football schools. And that is easier when you live in an area with lots of popuation and jobs.

If that's the case, then it sounds like some of these places need to move past 1985 and industrialize. Give people a reason to move there and they will.

Sorry I missed the part about this topic being strictly for patting Maryville on the back.

Well, I don't know about you, but I figured it out from the title of the topic.

And my word would be: Respect.  It flows many directions from many points to many others around the Maryville football program.
