HSFBLLRKS
Discovered the page gone this morning as well. Think the school is trying to cover their #### bc they finally figured out what a mistake they made?

randymc
This was all the principal ... She wanted 100% control over the football program and when he said that he had never heard anything like that in his 21 years and that he didn't want to have to place a purchase order for tape and such. She said that that they obviously had a difference in philosophies on how this program is gonna be run. She then gave him the choice of resigning or being fired. He really didn't have a choice in this matter. She's power hungry. I thought this was board policy for accounting purposes.

TDCman
Didn't Shadowens exit his last two jobs (Smyrna, MTCS) due to disagreements with the admin on how the program would be run?
hardtackle
Administrators will win every time over coaches. They stick together better than coaches do. Money will get you fired or allowed to resign. Times are changing with types of administrators and policies change also. Sounds like whose has more power to me. Even worse, never argue or disagree with a female. If the principal had been a male this probably never happens, also Shad would have not gotten his back up either. wingman10
Coach did not want to follow rules?
Frags
Apparently there's more to the situation than is being put out. The whole "philosophical differences" thing was just put out for media purposes. It's ongoing and the community isn't taking this lightly as well as demanding answers from the administration and elected officials. To borrow a quote from Shakespeare, "something is rotten in the state of Denmark". Stay tuned ...
hardtackle
Money will get you in trouble very quick. Follow policy, very simple.
HSFBLLRKS
Didn't Shadowens exit his last two jobs (Smyrna, MTCS) due to disagreements with the admin on how the program would be run? Um no....not at all with Smyrna and he was lied to about his contract with MTCS. It's not always so simple. Shad has just always taken the higher road and chosen not to slam the place he's leaving. Another example of a good man.
HSFBLLRKS
Shad left because he had no other option. Period. In the state of Tennessee resignation in lieu of termination is still perceived as a termination. The principal is a power hungry woman who has no business running this school. Do your research people! The last school she was the principal of, the coach, 21 years as a coach, was also forced to resign. SHE has a history of running off great coaches! Shad did NOTHING wrong, he wasn't looking to go ANYWHERE! So, if you want to show your support a facebook page has been created "Coach Shad Supporters" and there is a meeting tomorrow night at the Armory behind Go USA in Murfreesboro at 6:30. Show up and support Coach Shadowens! He deserves it!
throwXaway
Lots of people are making really ignorant assumptions about this situation. Does anyone really think that a simple disagreement of philosophy would lead a new principle in Rutherford County to axe a very popular and successful coach all on her own? Surely she understands just how important football is in Rutherford county right? A power hungry woman? The school board is involved and has made this decision. It wasnt about simply philosophy and It appears that last season was the last season that Shadowens will coach in a Rutherford County public school. Those who are passing around petitions and having meetings and calling for blood are making ####es of themselves.
