Who is going to replace the kicker? That kid the last 2 seasons kicked the ball in the endzone most of the time & he will be missed. Whats going on at the field at night are you thinking about spray painting the stadium? Don't do it cameras everywhere :roflol:

2015 State Champs?

Didn't spray paint anything, but I did write your number in the bathroom stall ;) did you see what our soccer team did this year? The kicker will be missed, but I'm sure we'll have someone to step up this year. They are having the youth camp this week. Its nice being back in burchfiel stadium and seeing the coaches out there with the kids

R-truth and Gwave, do u guys think he won't be eligible? As far as the "social media", I have heard some very negative things about what Dorian and his dad have posted. I haven't seen it myself, so I don't know for sure. And g89, she had not moved in April. Don't know about now. But his family was pretty sure he would be eligible

I stated before what I thought would happen. No, I do not think he will be eligible. The Gallatin coaches went to bat for him in getting the hardship for him to play last year. The Sevier Co coaches did not want him to be allowed to play from what I heard. Now the shoe is kind of on the other foot. 2 things. 1st You have to do what is necessary to play, train hard, eat right, keep your grades up and do what is right off the field. 2nd You have to know the rules and play within them. These things lead to success. The young man cannot blame others when these things have not been done. I understand he is still a kid and angery at the situation. However, you have to do those 2 things. Again I wish him well but I think his anger is misplaced.

You forgot the part about saying prayers and taking vitamins ;) I have no idea if sevier county coaches tried to keep him from getting the hardship at gallatin. To be honest, I would not be surprised if they did. And if he doesn't play this year I am not worried about our run game. Dorian is a special talent, but we have some kids that grew up wanting to be smoky bears. I agree with you, I wish Dorian well, but you have to do things a certain way. He may have to learn that lesson the hard way

Well I eat purple vitamins and Im praying Banks is eligible. They need stars to be state champs and Banks is definitely capable of being 1.

I dont think stripping kids of eligibility is in the best interest of any kid.  It could be that the only chance a kid has is to be a football player. Even just a semi famous small college kid can make a living from those football days. Of course he has an attitude towards people he feels like are working against him, he is a kid. These guys are not pros they are 14-18 year old boys. They will make lots of mistakes along the way but kids just like Banks who have had some negative history soon learn and grow and become insurance sales men in Boone NC or whatever where ever all because they scored some touchdowns.

Let him play....

What's up,Gobears? Sevier County should be the big favorite to win their region. I think 6-7 wins would get 1st place in that region. From what i've read lately SC should win 7-8 games. I was most likely wrong with my earlier prediction.

Mo West will be a very good team this year so I dont think the Bears are a big favorite. As far as wins and losses it could be any thing between 15-0 and 3-7 depending on how the stars align. Like I have been saying if healthy and a little lucky this team could win it all. The right 3-4 kids get hurt, lose eligibilty etc and the season could go down the drain quick. This team is not deep at any position other than maybe wr.

    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
    • All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
