Response to an email to one of the parents inquiring about the Knox schools playing:

Thank you for inquiring about the regional basketball tournaments scheduled for this week.  First let me say that I recognize how important these games are to our student athletes.

 

My understanding is that TSSAA has now approved a schedule where those regional games can be played tomorrow (Wednesday), Thursday and Friday –- weather permitting -- with the sectional still scheduled for Saturday.

 

I also personally spoke with Bernard Childress, Executive Director of TSSAA, this morning and he promised me that that they would work with us and provide us with as much flexibility as possible to keep our students safe without having to forfeit games. If conditions tomorrow don’t allow for the games to be played, Plan B would be to possibly move the sectional game to Sunday or Monday. 

 

Your coach will keep you posted as we hear more and make decisions about the coming days.

Maryville boys Region 2-AAA tournament game at Karns postponed. Rebels were ready and willing to play. Karns said no.

Games involving Knox Co. teams (both girls and boys) are being played this afternoon. Check the Coach T scoreboard page (http://www.coacht.co...see/scoreboard/ ) for times. The only games I'm not yet seeing are a pair of girls contests: South Doyle at Science Hill, and William Blount at Halls.

I'm not sure why Karns didn't want to play. I did some RECON (just in case we have to sue the TSSAA)
