Fresh/Soph AAU Team Tn. Line-up

Calling individual wrestlers or their parents is a sure-fire way to get the team 'you' want but setting up a booth at the state championship and contacting each of the HS coaches seems to be a better way to get the word out to potentially more wrestlers.

Calling certain wrestlers is basically a 'select' team. If we want to form a state all-star team then I suggest awarding an invitation to each of the state medalists along with their medals inviting them to participate in the one of the sponsored Team TN all-star dual teams. Hopefully enough would be interested to send multiple teams. Wrestle off for the first team spots at the end of the training before leaving for the tournament. State medalists could then leave the podium with their medal and invitation to represent Team TN.

While I'm very glad to see that we have two teams representing TN in Iowa this weekend, its a shame to see that we don't have a true all star team making our best effort.  Given the fact that our best wrestlers are not on one team we won't have a true idea of how we stack up nationally.  But it appears we might get to settle who should truly be on the A team as it appears there is a crossover match between the two TN squads.  Should be interesting.

I have to agree with RLWEST, I was highly disappointed to see how the Team TN team was selected.  There was definitely some daddy ball in play here.  I think I might coach next year so I guarantee my son gets on the team.

Humor, this kind of talk is a slam on every kid who is on the team. The team assembled is all freshmen and sophomores. My son is the 160. Give us the lineup of who you think should be the best of the best.

Not a slam on any kid. Just like others have said, should have offered the spot to the highest finishing freshman or sophomore at each weight (which I know for a fact was not done) before going down to non placers and jv kids.

There are many who legitimately deserve to be on the team, no doubt, but there are also some on the other TN team who finished ahead of those at the same weight on this team and there are some sitting at home who were never offered the opportunity (and yes they signed up at the booth).

I'm not gonna complain about the team we have because I'm just glad to see we have a team up in Iowa getting better competing. I think this is our best team.

Did King not win the state at 132?
