Redrage a little sensitive maybe?? I just stated an opinion on who I feel is the favorite to win the title in 2A. Can they be beat? Sure. But say I have been around football for a while and those guys have been playing the likes of Pearl-Cohn, Giles Co., Fulton, Dyersburg, Crockett Co.etc of the state. It is a different level than 2A for sure. Doesn't make them unbeatable just the favorite in 2A in my opinion. Maybe wrong and if so it wouldn't be the first time.

Same line of thinking with Westmoreland.....been playing East Nashville, Fairveiw, CPA, WhiteHouse....and doing pretty well, will be very good down in 2a.

I believe 2A blongs to Trezevant this year. Those guys lost a close battle with Fulton in the 4A finals last year and have a div. 1 calibur tailback returning. With their athleticism and speed I feel it is their title to lose.

You are forgetting an extremely important factor in that season.(and I'm not referring to players).  Trezevant was good in part because their defense was one of the best in the State.  They held Fulton to their second lowest total in two years.  Pearl Cohn was averaging 51 points a game entering that semi final game.  Trezevant held them to 12!  Trezevant had 5 shutouts.  Guess what's missing this year in addition to 19 starters from last season??  Jerrell Stearnes their defensive Coordinator is now head Coach at Fairley!  It will impact them.

Bledsoe, Forrest, cascade? Are you joking me? Have you not looked at Murphys book? They arent even close to being at the top of Murphys pole. Im beginning to question your football brains. You should have spent some more time with the guru Murphy in Shelbyville. You think im joking but im not.

Cut me a little slack, Roy...Show some love....Geez, keep this up and I'm gonna ask my buddy Vic Grider to ban Fudge Rounds at the games....

Im not cutting you any slack. Your pole is not near as good as Murphys. I cant believe some of the teams you put on their. Do you really think that Bledsoe Forrest or cascade can win a championship? You have got to be joking. I garuntee you Grider cant stop me from bringing in my fudge rounds either. You think im joking but im not.

Trezvant reloading who knows. They may come in cocky dropping from 4 to. 2. It won't be a cake walk for them who ever their playing. The truth is every level has a dominate team or two in them and on the right night UC could beat a great 4a school Adamsville beat a 5a last year that finally got put out by Ridgeway. Peabody can play with several larger schools this year. The truth is there's a lot of powder puffs in 3 and 4a just like there is in 1 and 2a. Coaching and pure desire to excel and brother like bond on the field wins games. Should be a great season look forward to opening day

I don't understand Trezavant, the population has been around 1000 for several years, where do all the kids come from. I'm sure several 1a schools have a higher population.

    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
    • All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
