Wow so this thread is really just for complaining about a coach. Nothing from the Riverdale faithful on the win. Nothing congratulating players on a hard fought victory. At least not on this thread you haven't. Maybe you congratulated the team in person after the game. Your players played their guts out. They could have mailed it in but manned up and played ball. A win is a win. Before you can win a gold ball you have to play your schedule. They did that Friday night and got the win. One step at a time. Last night was a step in the right direction regardless of who you think should get the credit. The reason I think that is because the players didn't fold up their tent when they were down. Congrats Riverdale. The football team anyway.

First off let me say congrats the the boys who faught hard for a win they deserved it. Now, in saying that for those who didnt see the game, this was a win out of deseration on the coaches part. The offense was out of sync and confused. It started off well with Bea using his strenghts and passing well and moving the ball and once again coach A sat him down and went to the back up which had trouble once again advaning the ball. The offense went from pro style to a semi winged t to finally a wildcat. The boys were very confused and seemed frustrated. The real truth is this team would have lost unless a single player who hadn played QB all year took this team on his shoulders and put the team in postion to win. Congrats to the freshman kicker who made a big kick after missing an extra point earlier. The defense looked like swiss cheese as Hillsboro ran up and down the field on them at will. As for Coach A, you got the feeling of desperation that he was going to do whatever he had to do to keep from losing to his old school. After 3 weeks and all fall of practice he still has no clue of the talent on this team and how to use them. That was evident friday night. The boys won this game, not the coach. If it wasnt for the skill and speed of one player who converted a bad call and busted play this would have been another loss.

    • When she starts farting around with the football team the powers in Maryville will run her out of town on a rail and everyone connected with letting her in the door. You saw what happened when Alcoa's radio announcer thought he was coming to Maryville, the people rose up and stopped it.
    • 20 but had 5-6 not dressed every game. It went down towards the end due to injuries and obviously only 15 got to dress for the state tournament. Then, they only lost 2 from this year and gain 8 from the middle school for next year
    • As somebody mentioned before, this is going to result in a massive lawsuit, can you imagine professional "educators" actually having the conversation about getting "the bad kids" out of the high school?  And the head coach asking directly to change grades, gets turned down, comes back again and gets it approved?  This is unbelievable.  In addition to the lawsuit, the state Department of Education is going to come down extremely hard on this.  WYSH is on the war path.  There could be dozens more lose their jobs by the time this is over.  And yeah the real shame is the kids being affected that literally had nothing to do with this and actually worked hard to earn their grades.
    • I've heard Powell from someone who talked to him. I saw the kid two days ago and I should of pulled over and talked with him and wished him well where ever he goes. It will be a ale of a loss for us because I don't believe we have anyone in the stable good as him from what I seen in the spring.
    • I would have to think that the firing of the 2 teachers is just the beginning of future moves.  If not, it is woefully short.  If the AC school board thinks that the damage is just limited to Clinton, they are sadly mistaken.  Any outsider would view the whole school system as suspect, and rightly so.
