Hate to hear about the two dismissals, especially for the two young men and their families. I have no idea what team rule or rules they broke to warrant dismissal nor do I care to know. I believe Coach Quarles wouldn't have taken such decisive action unless necessary. Team rules are necessary to hold everyone accountable. If they aren't enforced or just enforced selectively, they are worthless.

As for the football part, I don't expect a drop off at all for Maryville. Maryville will still be the deepest and most talented team in the area.

IMO, the key tonight is if the Indians can tackle the Maryvul's running backs...went to the Bearden game and saw some hard runs by #43, #2 and the QB position, #32, I think was the #, is a bid ole boy and looks tough to bring down. I don't think either team will go much to the pass but just as you sneak up GQ will hit the seem route. #52 and #51 were not big but they come off the ball quick and get to the second level. DB linebackers will have to fill and wrap up, if you hug these boys to the ground they will drag you. Just the opposite for DB they will have to get #27, #25, #23 and #88 blocked. Easier said than done...MHS runs their spread option at a different speed than any opponent DB will face, they are off the line quickly and make you commit then they read and go, QB likes to keep on 3rd down and any down where they need yardage...Good luck to the Indians and safe game to the reb's.

P.S. caught a MHS t-shirt at Bearden game, I be a thankin' you.

Man,if you had said DB and a wideout,I'd said that's bad.The loss of a QB to many teams is a complete season ending thing.Take the SH game just a couple weeks ago.I know this is Maryville and you guys play two and have one of the best staffs anywhere, but that still hurts at some point.Maybe not tonight, but at some point.I hope the number 3 and 4 guys are ready to step up.I remember a couple of 3 and 4 QB's at Tennessee back in the 90's during the vols first game at UCLA.One stepped up very well.

i dont know if it will or not but if it does im sure you'll be happy. Unlike Coach Carter and his ease of prep for the REBELS , GQ will not stake the entire running of the offense on 1 player. Yes the QB will be missed but the show must go on.

Not at all.If it wasn't for teams like Maryville, alcoa, fulton and a couple more.East TN would be laughed at when it comes to football and the playoffs.I enjoy watching the Rebs win it all against the middle and west TN teams

From my view from over the mountains , this Rebel team is on the way to being AWESOME.

Never saw so  many great running backs, 2 very good Qbs, several sticky fingered receivers,an

All-American linebacker, offensive and defensive lines that are getting better and better as we speak. Sure would like to be there, but I get get the home games on nfhsnet.com..

If you cannot get the webcast go to www.knoxtalkradio.com  for the broadcast. 94.3 FM WNFZ
