West at Farragut

I think Farragut wins big. West struggled against Farragut at their best and this year's west team is not as good as those west teams. Plus this Farragut team is probably the best they have had since 2009. This game could get ugly quick.

Thoughts on this? Going by this post you would think West was 1-5 going into this matchup and had no shot to win.

This is why they play the games.

Go Rebels!

Often, those who spout off a lot have limited knowledge.

Trainers plus thoroughbreds equals good chance at first place trophies.

Trainers plus work horses equals good plowed fields.

The key is thoroughbreds.

I noticed W/B got spanked again last evening.

Congrats to Knox West on the victory. Ultimately wasn't a very impressive win. The West Rebels were on the beneficial side of several questionable officiating calls. The poor weather and field conditions & Cole Strange not playing severely hurt Farragut. The Admirals would have demolished West with #45 & better field conditions.

Knox West will be brought back to earth in two weeks against the Fulton Falcons. That game won't be close. And let's be honest, Knox West doesn't want to see Farragut again in the playoffs. As I'm sure the Farragut coaches would concur. The Rebels escaped with a lucky win. They better savor it while they can. I hear Farragut has the best freshman team in the state & will be looking for revenge this Monday. The West Rebels better get ready.

A win is a win. So beating the undefeated Ads at home was not impressive? I was pretty impressed. As far as calls - we were on the wrong end of most of those.

    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
