What scrimmages are going on? How does Forrest look? Anything is helpful I'm so out of the loop.

forrest at Trousdale this Friday. Don't take too much away from it though. We don't play to win. Looks as though we are using these scrimmages for a lot of playing time for the 2nd string with key positions hurt or in baseball

FORREST WAS RUNNING BACK BY COMMITTEE LAST YEAR. one senior left. two upcoming seniors this fall are VERY good. I don't think Forrest tries to "win" either. Just play hard and get guys used to the system. It's the same system that the kids basically start in elementary school.

3A, they lost to Stratford in first round of 3A playoffs before CPA put the Spartans out.

Were they 4A two years ago? Anyway, thanks. Trosudale is very respected and even though it is just a scrimmage rest assured no one is taking it lightly at ALL

I'm real interested in hearing more about lifting on game day. What is considered the upside Sounds interesting would like to hear what benefit there has been.

Back in the day I would have been pissed to lift on game day. It would have made me want to knock someone's head off and win the game asap so I could get in bed and rest. Just saying...

If Forrest gets the line shored up, they'll be fine. They have the best stable of backs they've had in years. The freshman and sophomore they have are studs and will be great compliments to the two seniors.

I think you are referring to the old Z Plan where TSSAA lumped 1A and 2A, 3A and 4A 5A and 6A all in regions together and then split for the playoffs. Fairview was a 3A school then as well.

 

Also on the lifting, I could be wrong but I believe it is very light lifting to get the muscles firing and stretched not a heavy lift.

I thought Forrest looked pretty good last Friday.

Strong up front and several good ball carriers. Defense looked tight too. Especially for a spring scrimmage. Disciplined football team.

Thanks, wasn't bad considering they had 5 or 6 starters out with either injuries or baseball, including their lone D1 prospect.
