will I would probably say getting to coach or assist coaching his daughter has a little something to do with it,I would say that some of your points are correct, about Mike never facing a rebuilding program, but going to Cloudland right now is definitely a rebuilding program.

I've been told for years that the coach would leave when rebuilding was needed....Never happened....Still hasn't.

But as for rebuilding, it was just 3 years ago that we started a Sophomore QB, Sophomore RB, Freshman TB and so on and so forth....Although we had some talent around them (Robinson, Ford, Dugger) it sounds like a rebuilding to me....Glad He, Jr and staff were here to see us through it.

I hope the best for Mike 'cause Cloudland has many more challenges than just rebuilding.

MUCH tougher challenge at Cloudland. Shoot they haven't had enough kids to have a jv game the past 2 years. I'm sure the kids are there but you have to get um out and it will take time to get um up to par.Extremely difficult job but they have the right person,

Coach Lunsford returns to Cloudland to finish his career after coaching at their biggest rival for the past 12 years. That will make for a good story. The bigger story could be dad vs son next year. It's to bad these two teams don't play twice a year anymore.

I wouldn't be surprised to see these schools return to playing twice a season now...The gate is massive when these two meet.

The dad/son thingy will make this game even bigger than before....Huge....Especially if Hampton was to drop to 1A

Pujo,

91's oldest is coaching at the middle school level up there, and his youngest boy will be a sophomore next season, right?

I think about the athletes Mike could have on the field the next few years and they may be TUFF!

Not 'beating Hampton tuff', but tuff still  :roflol:

If Mike is there in 2022, they'll have a shot at Hampton....This 6th grade bunch at HES will be graduated by then!!!

KING???  :popcorneater:

Once they get all the kids out, they will be fine. All schools have kids that can be good, they just have to be developed.

    • No reasonable lawyer would take up this case. I am not a lawyer, but I know school law in and out.  Similar situations just like this play out thousands of times each year across the country, even at the college level (i.e. Ole Miss)  The Plaintiff's never win...ever.  If I am wrong, please provide a legal precedent for me. I will be waiting.  https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/39431892/judge-drops-ole-miss-player-lawsuit-lane-kiffin
    • Yes Justin Cruse was named head coach
    • It used to be, I think it still is, a change of 20% +/- gives reason to reclassify. Schools can choose to play up classifications but not down. Here is the mid cycle reclassification info on TSSAA.org When Memphis East changed from a regular public school to an "all-optional" school in 2017 the would've dropped to A but chose to stay in AAA in basketball (baseball, and softball) Penny was still coaching there and with the players they had they would've beaten A teams by 40 and slept walked to the championship. Other Memphis schools stayed in their classifications (mostly in basketball) until the next reclassification cycle. Of course this is the same time that a 4th class was added basketball.
