FootballFan51
Chatt Christian announced a few months back that they were going, and as of today Boyd Buchanan and Chattanooga Grace are going too. I don't think Notre Dame has made their announcement yet but I don't think it will take too long.Notre Dame will definitely be going. The schools that were 'living in the gray' must go because they have been doing the things (work study, whatever you want to call it, etc.) that public school administrators have been rightly screaming about. The private schools that are still thinking about it generally are the ones that have not been doing things that give them an advantage over the public schools. TnTxn
Have heard that an option out there for DII is to have a "Super 12" division of the 12 largest private schools, then divide the remaining schools by size. IF that were true, how would it look? Well, according to TSSAA numbers, it would look something like this if all schools opted to go D2: AAA (Super 12) Baylor Brentwood Briarcrest Christian Brothers Father Ryan Knox Catholic Knox Webb Lipscomb MBA McCallie PJP II St Benedict You may be right on on Super Conference - nothing would surprise me. There are currently only 11 teams in D2-AA - those you list above less Knox Catholic, Knox Webb and Lipscomb but adding Ensworth (plays up) and MUS (all-male). Here are the enrollment figures currently (doubling for all-male) for the largest 30 privates (I may have missed something): 1 Christian Bros (Mem) (867) 1734 2 McCallie (Male) (666) 1332 3 MBA (Male) (510) 1020 4 Father Ryan 958 5 MUS (Male) (446) 892 6 St. Benedict 891 7 Baylor 697 8 Knox Catholic* 650 9 PJP II 575 10 Briarcrest 568 11 Lipscomb* 509 12 Brentwood Academy 489 13 Webb (Knoxville) 471 14 Ensworth 462 15 CCS 439 16 CAK* 426 t-17 CPA* 419 t-17 St. George 419 19 Notre Dame* 417 20 Evangelical Christian* 384 21 Harding 376 22 USJ 344 23 Lausanne 337 24 BGA 326 25 First Assembly 316 26 Northpoint 304 27 Grace Christian* 303 28 Goodpasture* 301 29 Silverdale* 295 30 Hutchison 281 31 Boyd* 271 32 Franklin Rd Acad 248 Ensworth will likely want to continue to play up. Knox Catholic is #8 in enrollment among the privates, so they'll be tapped to play in the large division. So, how likely would it be for the TSSAA to have only 1 Knoxville team in this division? It would seem to make more sense to have at least 16 teams in the largest division, so there could be 3 Knoxville teams and 3 Chattanooga teams. Those 6 teams could be one region, the 6 Middle TN teams could be a region, and the 4 West TN teams could remain a region. I know nothing..... Just putting it out there. TnTxn
Isn't Hutchison an all girls school?? Also where does Jackson Christian, Trinity Christian and Fayette Academy fit in enrollment wise??? I combined a couple of spreadsheets that are for different things, so if including one all-girls school was my only mistake, I'll be shocked. Ha. Here is the complete list that I have. I was initially concentrating on the larger schools, so I'm not sure I even included every private school. Enrollment figures are from TSSAA website (http://tssaa.org/tssaa-enrollment-figures-for-2015-16-2016-17-classification/). An asterisk indicates they are currently in Div. 1. 1 Christian Bros (Mem) (867) 1734 2 McCallie (Male) (666) 1332 3 MBA (Male) (510) 1020 4 Father Ryan 958 5 MUS (Male) (446) 892 6 St. Benedict 891 7 Baylor 697 8 Knox Catholic* 650 9 PJP II 575 10 Briarcrest 568 11 Lipscomb* 509 12 Brentwood Academy 489 13 Webb (Knoxville) 471 14 Ensworth 462 15 CCS 439 16 CAK* 426 t-17 CPA* 419 t-17 St. George 419 19 Notre Dame* 417 20 Evangelical Christian* 384 21 Harding 376 22 USJ 344 23 Lausanne 337 24 BGA 326 25 First Assembly 316 26 Northpoint 304 27 Grace Christian* 303 28 Goodpasture* 301 29 Silverdale* 295 30 Boyd* 271 31 Franklin Rd Acad 248 32 Trinity* 245 33 JCS* 239 34 Davidson 233 35 Friendship Christian 231 36 DCA 218 37 MTCS* 214 38 Fayette Academy 212 39 Columbia Academy* 211 40 Tipton Rosemark 199 41 Clarksville Academy* 194 42 Nashville Christian* 192 43 Ezell-Harding 183 44 St Andrews 168 45 Grace Baptist* 160 46 Memphis Cath 154 47 MJCA 143 48 Kings Academy 140 49 Zion 133 50 Rossville 127 51 Concord Christian 106 Couldn't find info on Grace Christian Franklin or TN Christian. silverpie
If by "TN Christian" you mean the one in Cleveland, they are not TSSAA members at this time. Grace Christian of Franklin is at 140. Also, strike Columbia Academy, who have declared D-1 status.

HCHSladyPats
Mercy, 51 schools, 3 classes, that is more like region numbers for public schools. LOL By the numbers, that would be like having 21 public school state championships. (figuring 17 teams per class).
