Clay Co vs Jackson Co (Nera White Championship)

With the way Clay has been playing and the way Key has played I will take Clay by 10+ however anything can happen and Jackson Co has a good team this year.

 

Either way 7A is well represented this year seems like.

Clay by 12-15 Jackson Co. Doesn't have enough size they have a Forward starting at the 5 which is going to hurt tonight. Hoping it's a better game then I expect but Key is on a tear and had a game high nonchalant 33 last night. Clay plays JC 3 times before February 10th so tonight will be a good measuring stick for the Blue Devils.

Yeah I don't see Clay winning by much more than 10 if they do. Both are playing at a neutral gym with Clay playing one less game so it should be a good one as both teams are playing well. Jackson will have to keep Clay off the boards or it will be a long night as Mabry and Key will kill the offensive glass.

Score is a lot closer than the game truthfully. After watching tonight Clay outclassed JC in all facids of the game. It was an 18 point lead with 4 min to go but hats off to JC to cut it to 9 and not give up.

 

District should be interesting and I expect a good game between JC and Clarkrange.

Phillips for Jackson Co getting in early foul trouble and getting hurt later in the game was huge in this game. He is a pretty big part of their offense. Clay played pretty darn good like usual.

The best team won tonight period.  There was no bench clearing substitutes so the score is what it is.  It doesn't matter if you win or lose by 1 or 100 its either a W or an L.  Losing Phillips 2 minutes into the game didn't help JC's efforts as he is a big part of what they do.  It was a good measuring stick, now both will make adjustments and we'll see how it shakes out.  I think these are the best two teams in the region but that's just my opinion.  There is a long way to go until the end of February.  One injury here or there or someone stepping up and playing a great game at the right time could make a difference to both teams.  Congrats to Clay County on the victory.

Thoughts? Why would u schedule a tournament with district competition? Who's favor does this play into Jackson county or clay when district tournament comes around ?

No clue why maybe a favor to Macon county's coach ....who knows it was a very weak tourney IMO and it definitely benifitted JC more than Clay last night seeing them before they play 2 more times with it meaning something. Especially Considering Clay just won a very difficult tourney last week in gatlinburg against 3a talent they really stood nothing to gain at the Nera white except that trophy.
