Does anyone know if DB athletics has been any worse than it has been this year? While we don't have the best coaches, some of it is the players. It's time for Kingsport and DB to fix the feeder system these kids are coming up in or it is only going to get worse. Does anyone know of any changes that could occur or any suggestions on what needs to happen?

Worst basketball team I've ever seen DB have this year. Football team had some talent, but the defense was non existent.

My feelings exactly. I can not remember a time that it has been this bad.

 

They say that Tradition never graduates. Well either it has in the football and basketball programs, or it's just plain died. It couldn't be much worse if somebody intentionally tried to kill both programs.

Freshman girls BB team won their first game tonight.

What you are seeing at DB is the "Fruits of Labor" brought about by all involved, from top to bottom. Oh, and that's the rotten fruit that's laying around under the tree by the way. This didn't come about just this year this has been done over the past ten years. This is the fault of everyone from the school board and city officials all the way down to the guys that pick up trash after the games. All (yes all) of the so called leaders have their nose stuck so high up in the air there's no way anybody can convince them their not doing a awesome job. Then you have all these "yes men" scrambling trying to feel important telling these twits in charge what a great job their doing. There's not a single person involved from top to bottom that even has a clue. That's how bad it is. It can't be fixed. I'll say it again. It can't be fixed. DB is done. Not one and done anymore. Just done.

It's just an off year for the boys basketball team, they have averaged 20 wins per year since 2001 and maybe even before that.     Football and Basketball happened to completely tank in the same year so that just makes it seem worse than it is.      I predict basketball will be back close to 20 W's next season.     Boys basketball is still year-in-year-out either 1st or 2nd best in the Tri-cities

I predict you will change your mind next season. This is far deeper than just a "down year". You'll see what I mean in the next couple years. As soon as they kill off the bowling team their job will be complete.

That bad huh? I think they'll get it turned around. DB has too long of a history of success for it not to get turned around. JMO of course.

sounds like all the seniors quit but 1 and hes the heart and soul of the team...kids love him. the others did nothing but turn the ball over all the time and cause problems from what I been told. ive watched a few games and this seems exactly right.  there is a problem when the kids wont listen and do their own things when they evidently don't work haha.  quitters never win and are most often the problem!!

Now if the coach would quit it would be complete. Everything you point to is 100% a coaching problem. He shows up for a check. That's it.

      Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!

      I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
