Anyone know of any coaching changes so far.I don't know if it's true ,but heard one of the best on the staff won't be coaching any more, just teaching.I  gave my two cents to one of the coaches and a few of the football parents back earlier in the winter and that won't change unless something turns the whole deal around and I don't see it.Atleast not when it comes to anything I have a say in.Good luck to all the kids and several  of the coaches that I know really try to help them .

I haven't heard of any coaching changes. And to be honest that's not all that surprising. If I had been in charge of that defense I would of resigned and left town. Moved to a third world country and raised goats. I guess maybe it will get bad enough and a lynch mod will come in and set things straight.

I also heard today that the linebacker coach will not be returning to the team next season.  Maybe we can also find him a spot at the HILL.  Didn't DB have really good linebacker play this season?  is this the only defensive coaching change????  refresh my memory, but wasn't the D the problem spot all year?

100,your all over it ! DB has some fine coaches and they are good men.Coach Holt is tops and one of my favorites. If it's true and he wants to coach,I'd love to see him rewarded anywhere because he deserves it.I've not talked to him in months and only heard parts of the story.DB will get a couple of studs in for next year on the "D" front but the problem is deeper then the defense. You can't have a couple of coaches belittle or disrespect players and one of them be to arrogant to even know he done it.I've been ask to be positive months ago by one of the " powers that be" over here, but when you know there is a problem,it's hard not to turn loose.

Holt is the only coach on the defense side that I would keep....period!  I know you say there are some fine coaches and good men on the staff. And that's probably true, but I'm pretty sure the stats prove the defense coaching has been terrible and getting worse every year. I'd say you will see a couple more years of this along with two more loosing seasons before a lot of people "turn loose". Everybody has already blessed this freshman and sophomore class so it won't work for all the yes men to blame it on the players. The gig will be up soon. It will be fun to watch.

    • Never said I thought it was a smart decision. I'm scratching my head at it too.
    • If he wanted to play QB he should have either went to Heritage or William Blount and had a real good chance there. In stead he'll be exactly what he was going to be at Maryville. They already know who their QB is going to be in 2025 and it ain't going to be him.
    • Easier said than done. The man who ran for 250+ yards and 3TDs is gonna be back….and a lot bigger.
    • plus it removes the pressure around winning.
    • You are correct.   The teacher's pay scale is virtually the same in Knox County, now, as it is at Oak Ridge.   The coaching supplements are still higher at Oak Ridge, from what I was told, but not a huge difference.   Plus, Rusty is going from a position coach to an OC position, which is what he was at South Doyle and where his comfort zone is.  And from a special education teaching slot to a PE teaching slot.  There is a lot of positivity in that move without even considering the coaching aspect.   Anybody who sees something negative here is just looking for negativity to begin with.  But some live in that world.   Really good hire for Brent.  He now has two experienced and quality coordinators and can concentrate on being a head football coach.
