ridgerunner91
I'm going to go out on a limb here, but I Am thinking that # 30 will be the starting RB and # 41 will be at FB.. I hope you're right. But who will be at QB?
ridgerunner91
Only have 1 coming back, unfortunately (Brinkman). Hopefully some others can step up and fill the holes. Anybody heard about who the new OL Coach will be? Who will be in the backfield with Graham and Tre Jackson? Thompson? Backfield will be loaded with stud Sophomores. Excited to see the stud RB from Robertsville also. When I watched RMS and JMS, I didn't see many linemen on either team, and I'm talking about for the last few years. I think that's the biggest difference between us and a lot of teams we have to compete with in the playoffs. That area seems to be a constant source of weakness and concern. oridgecat
Johnny Stewart will likely be the signal caller.

That area seems to be a constant source of weakness and concern.OR has most always been known to have undersized linemen. Barring a few years like '91, '05, and '14 we have always thrived on having strong undersized linemen that made up for it in technique and footwork and of course working their a#$%$ off in the weight room. Gaddis mentioned on one of the coaches shows last season. He said we have never been known for producing big linemen. For whatever reason it has never been something we have been accustomed to having. In HS it doesn't mean nearly as much as it does in the upper level leagues. I'll take a smaller undersized linemen who has good footwork, technique, and knows how to use pad leverage anyday than a big ole slow lughead. But, when you can combine both, that's when you have something special.
SweetScience
When I played our starting Center Jody Dickens was 195 soaking wet. Our two pulling guards Ryan Hanks and Bryan Landry were about 215, but were both really strong and had nasty streaks. LT was about 225 at most. We went to the state semifinals and lost 21-7 to a Riverdale team that's possibly one of the best teams this state has ever known. We went 13-1. Dang good team. The offense we are running now you really don't need big linemen, you need agile ones. Edited February 26, 2016 by SweetScience

The Galloway kid at Jefferson looked real good. The freshman team had a few good ones. As a whole, you're right, not big and not a lot of them. Too many decide not to play. The fact we can't get many real JV games discourages sophomores and they decide to do something else. Don't get varsity snaps and don't play freshmen games. GWAVE1
All the talk about small linemen but I remember a beast in 91'. I can't recall his name at the moment but he was well over 300lbs and lined up over our guy at 185lbs.
