Michigan/Oakland HS Football camp

All the boys at the DNJ were starstruck at the sight of Harbaugh yesterday.  They even brought their fellow Gannett employee (the Michigan State beat writer) down from the Tennessean.

Who looked good? Not much talk as much hype.

It was definitely a money Grab, There were 600+ kids there and not much evaluations of Talent going on. Not like any other camp I've attended, it was more like a circus!

Knoxville Catholic, Union City, Blackman, and Riverdale were some schools off the top of man head that did well in speed drills.

I read that a defensive back from Knox Catholic showed those big time recruits how it was supposed to be done.

You must have gotten caught up in the smoke and mirrors show. Ive been to three camps this year and your right, this one was different. But what you may not have seen was when Harbaugh was over with the juniors and seniors putting on his rah rah act the rest of his staff was over with the freshman and sophomores picking out the fastest players and the ones that stood out. They would line up 10 guys for the 40 and the then they would actually run to the top 3 and pull them aside and find out who they were. On every drill they did they would personally pick out the top talent on each drill and talk with them. This was all about two things, money for the school and Harbaugh and Michigan trying to find the young diamond in the  rough.

Classic! Harbaugh gives the people the show they were expecting while his lieutenants go and do work. Wow! ... 600 folks. They made money AND evaluated the top freshman and sophomores who attended. Sounds like the circus had some structure to the chaos. Smart. Recruiting is about relationships. Always has been. Michigan is laying groundwork. Talk about having your cake and eating it too!

lol...my kids graduated Ole Miss 5 years ago....
