Diego Womack (Jackson North Side). Bad news is that Womack will be dealing with at a bad North Side team. In 2014-15, the Indians lost their guard play, followed back with losing Chavis Fuller and Marquise Clark (both forwards) in 2015-16. Add on a tough district with Haywood, Ripley, and Covington.

Womack will be entering his senior season.

I heard Womack is gone from NS, but they have a couple of new transfers? Truth?

I don't know how I forgot to mention this kid. He's the real deal. Gave us(Halls) 40 points and there was absolutely nothing we could do to stop him. He was like a Troy Polamalu on defense, he was everywhere. We still beat them by 20 but if he had just a little bit of help it would've been a quiet trip home for us.

Hunter Vick will be playing college basketball at Tennessee Tech.

Depends. I'm confident that Womack is a Senior at North Side. However, with the rezoneing and closing JCM down and all that fiasco that happened, Womack could left North Side if he lives south of I-40. He had the option of staying at North Side and finish, or go somewhere else. I'll have to find out; not close to the NS basketball program.

BREAKING SPORTS NEWS: The Golden Tornado will soon be a Rebel.
Union City High School senior Parker Stewart made his college choice official today by verbally c...ommitting to play basketball at Ole Miss after fielding offers from numerous Division I programs from across the country and taking several recruiting trips.
Stewart gets his college choice out of the way and will now concentrate on his final season with the Twisters, a year that will see the team play in highly-touted prospect tournaments in Washington, Ill., (Thanksgiving) and Wilmington, N.C., (Christmas) in addition to its District 14A slate. Stewart scored 647 points, averaging 19 per game, last season in helping lead the Tornadoes to their third consecutive Class A sectional round. In his sophomore season, Union City reached the Single-A state championship game.
Stewart is also a member of Penny Hardaway's Memphis-based Team Penny in the AAU summer circuit.
At Ole Miss, he will join a program that has enjoyed great success under head coach Andy Kennedy, a two-time SEC Coach of the Year selection. In 10 years with Kennedy in charge, the Rebels have won 212 games, reached the NIT five times and the NCAA Tournament twice. Last year's Ole Miss squad won 20 games and moved into The Pavilion at Ole Miss, a new, state-of-the-art 9,500-seat arena. The Rebels christened their new home with a 74-66 win over Alabama on Jan. 7 of this year.

Per The Messenger-Union City, TN.

    • I heard they have most of their team coming back. Who is the next coach?  Also, what about Chester County? That one has been open for a while.  Gibson County also???
    • Marion had no answer for groves last year and he’s added a lot of weight since last year already. And the other groves Marion couldn’t block…he’ll be back.
    • Hmmmmm……doe dee doe doe….i drove the lawnmower down to practice today…….hmmmm…… we got some new faces………. One can run faster than my lawnmower in fifth gear…… a few will be disappointed come November that they jumped ship and went down to that sewage facility……. You can bet the lawnmower on that.
    • I don't know what's going on in the town of McMinnville, but I've read this and it's disturbing.  I'm a "player" person, and I want what's best for the player. If a player gets cut off the team because she said the "F word" then good grief. I mean, come on guys. I wish there was a way for the player to transfer to a different program and just play ball. There are a lot of athletes that are stuck because they're in crappy situations regarding their team/coach. This is player just happens to be one them.
    • Won't happen. College coaches will back the coach every time and it cost this young lady her senior season. Looks like the player may be right on this one. School let her  go after one season. This stuff happens more than you think.
