LET THE TREZEVANT INVITATION BEGIN !

Recommended Posts

Trezevant has been playing up for years and I think Alcoa better be lucky I don't think Alcoa would've made it to the 4a championship and did any better than Trezevant. So we're not lucky they are.

Alcoa lucky to not play Trezevant? That statement alone tells me you have no clue about football and only looking through purple glasses. Look up the last time Alcoa and Fulton played it was a 30-7 win against the 4a state champ Fulton that year 2012 (Alcoa didn't even make it to the finals this year). What happened when yall played in 4a? No gold balls and 1 embarrassing display of football that ended in a 60 to 12 throttling by Greeneville. Your clueless Edited by Swipes

What Marion player are you going to take off their team...If you take off the linebacker the score is still the same

Willie2888:

I have a contest that I do every year in the 5A/6A hish school football forum called 'Big Games in Memphis' It's just for fun. I keep up with everybody's picks as the year goes along. This Saturday in the North Memphis Classic your Trezevant Bears will play against the KIPP Pheonix at Crump Stadium at 8:00 PM. This is one of my BGIM. I've selected 18 games for this 1st week, and this game is a biggie. You have Dewayne Betts who has verbally committed to play QB at Kansas State, Cordrrian Richardson who is verbally committed to Clemson and the DE at Trezevant who has verbally committed to Purdue. Come on over and participate in the Big Games in Memphis contest.

Wonder if he's ever watched Gang land. Memphis is one of the 10 worst cities in the nation to live in. All you have to do is a little research. I'm sure you have all types of people including rich , religious and smart people but you also have TONS of crime and just flat out bad people. It is what it is. And no I didn't say Willie was poor, dumb or country. He just has a hard time with reading comp. Always thinking the worst of everything he reads. Its called little man syndrome.

So gangland is the first picture that you see when u think of Memphis and you wanna call someone else out about thinking the worst of everything. U can't expect us honest hardworking non gang member/criminal Memphians on here to just take that in stride and not have some type of rebuttal when you and other East Tennessians from the paradise of the mountains make statements like that and paint that as a general picture of Memphis and Memphians...

Humble yourselves cause bad things can and do happen everywhere.

I don't think Pujo was giving his personal opinion. He was stating facts that have been in media. I myself was raised in Memphis my whole life. Were there bad elements yes. Are there bad elements in most towns yes. I myself enjoyed my life in Memphis. Traveled all through Memphis and saw good and bad in all areas. Just my opinion though I do think some people here on the T do have some what of a chip on their shoulder. Not everything is a slam. Yes some is, but just like the Memphis posters want, don't group everyone in as the world against Memphis. As I have said in other post. I support TCA and my son plays for them. But I am also proud to see Memphis teams succeed. Heck Trezvant took us out in the alley and kicked our butts. No sour grapes just were not good enough that night. Keep working hard and it always pays off. Good luck to all of the Memphis teams. Represent!!!!

It's all good. It wasn't just him and from most of his posts I think he's a good dude but it's just the general picture painted on here too often from the East that memphis is just a cesspool for crime and criminals that brings out the chip. I don't mind all the trash talk about football but the convo too often turns away from football and towards crime when dealing with Memphis. But back to football; hopefully Trezvants brutal regular season schedule doesn't have them too banged up when they finally meet a legit 2a challenge deep in the playoffs.

they will be just fine. Trust me we saw first hand in the semi finals. I just wish we would have had our stud. I believe it would have been a dog fight. Just like any team you loose your star and high school kids start second guessing. That's what happened to our boys. Would have been a good one. Good luck to Trezvant and Whitehaven and all memphis teams. I watch you guys close even though I am in Jackson.

    • Did this happen? Does anyone know? Ripley has their HC job posted on the bulletin board over the weekend.
    • Coalfield definitely isn't the same team they've had the past few years. They are still the favorites to make it out of their region because of their pitching. They have 1 arm that sits low to mid 80s and 2 other arms that are mid to high 70s with good off speed stuff. If you can avoid their top 3 bats in their lineup then you have a shot to beat them. Their 4-9 hitters are average at best. Wartburg's ace was able to shut them down last week in the game Wartburg won 4-2.
    • It is the longest season. Plus, 30 games a year. No Christmas break. I would say basketball is the most time consuming.
    • No movement on Chester? South Gibson? Gibson County?
    • Winfree's senior year was the season she needed to secure more college interest. That opportunity was taken away from her. A lot of false assumptions can be made about what happened and what the options are. Unfortunately, the former coach and administration did not allow Winfree to have due process. A lawsuit was filed for a reason, and it will run its course by people who conduct discovery and take depositions. Unless the parties settle out of court, a lot of the pertinent issues will come to the public surface. I wrote about many of the issues here: https://bdnewsletter.news/2023/11/17/grounds-for-investigation-and-suspension/ I interviewed Winfree after she was dismissed from the team and wrote about it here: https://bdnewsletter.news/2023/12/01/a-new-interview-with-sable-winfree/ Winfree had been on teams in Warren County since the fourth grade and never been dismissed from a team. The real questions are why was Winfree dismissed from the team, and why the administration backed a coach whom they did not rehire.
