Late to be starting this since the season is only a couple of weeks away, but Central returns 11 starters off last years 9-3 team including a few all region players. We also have some underclassmen who didn't play much last year who are stepping into bigger roles. After watching us scrimmage Alcoa yesterday, I truly think this team could be as good as last years if not better. Depth is an issue but Rosser has the team and community bought in. Go Bobcats!

Better late than never. One thing about it is that you guy's have the right coach for sure and he will get Central back on the right step to being one of the leaders in the KFL again. That was a great move on his part to scrimmage Alcoa because you don't get better unless you play the best is how I've always seen it. Good luck to the Bobcats this year and sure miss the good games in the past with Maryville.

BC, we Central people look forward to beating Fulton this year. Truth is we had them beat last year until Kentel made that catch with 50 seconds left. I'm not doubting Fulton, they will always be good. But this is not the Fulton machine of a couple years ago, not even close. As I have preached the past couple years, Central is on the rise back to where we used to be. Our hardest games are Catholic, Fulton and Mo West. All these are winnable games, although I don't think we win them all. I'd be happy to go 1-2 in that stretch but 2-1 would be great. Also, look out for those dam Green Devils up there, if they pass the ball better than last year, LOOK OUT.

Catholic opens at Morristown West next Saturday, will keep you up to date.

Now that I live in Fountian City I have had the chance to see both teams in action. (Fulton and Central)  RecentlyI watched Fulton play Jefferson County in a scrimmage and they appeared very tough.  They didn't look like the flashy team that scored every other play from a few years ago but they looked very solid.  Number 6 is a monster and even called out Jefferson Co on defense screaming they were running the same play again and challenged them to stop him.  Well...they didn't!  And Central as well looked a lot like last year I was told...only bigger.  In my opinion though Fulton is still more athletic and the speed they have should prevail in the end.  I expect a close game like last year though.

    • Eagleville hosting shows laziness on the part of the TSSAA and a complete disregard for the appearance of impartiality. Absolutely nothing against EHS. Its not their fault TSSAA is lazy.    I understand EHS staff work the games at Eagleville, and they don’t want to miss the EHS games. However this isn’t rocket science. It would take less than 1 hour to cross-train EHS and RHS volunteers at the opposite sites. If Eagleville (or any host)  makes the tournament, flip their game site and have the volunteers flip sites for the days their school plays at the opposite site. Magically the school’s fans would be present to watch the their kids play and the kids at least lose some familiarity and home field advantage.  It takes almost no effort and is a ~15 minute extra drive.
    • We feel the pain!
    • Jason Lambert should be the only choice for the Baseball coaching position.
    • From the stats I found online it looks like Gabe Eddington- .484, 44 total hits, 43 runs scored and 42 stolen bases.Meanwhile, on the mound, the Austin Peay commit had a record of 8-2, while compiling 50 innings pitched with an ERA of 1.82. Carson Parrott - 7-0 overall as a starting pitcher with a 1.41 ERA, 95 strikeouts and a save in 53 and 1/3 innings pitched. Parrott hit .392 with 3 home runs, 21 RBIs with a .566 OBP and .716 SLG. Jaxon Walker - .454, 53 hits, 38 RBI’s, 9 HRs.   Not saying the other three aren’t deserving but Quillen had better BA than all three and was just as dominate pitching.  Like I said I don’t know how you leave off the 3a Baseball player of the year last year when he put up better numbers.  I know Greeneville’s Coach wasn’t happy about it saying “I don’t give a s*** what anybody else says. That kid is the best player in Tennessee, and everybody else on our team rises to his level“.  I’m sure winning another State Championship as a junior is more important to Carson than the individual award, it’s just a head scratcher to not be nominated
