Hope your not expecting the same Bulldogs you seen last year!

I was not expecting last years Bulldogs to look like they did either. Sounds like a jab, but it isn't. Most all the Hickman Co. posters leading up to the game last season predicted a blowout win on the way to a region title...I respect fan's support of their team and belief in their ability, but if your one liner is a lead in to that same kind of gibberish, I'm out.

With that out of the way...I expect a hard fought game from a good team. I'm not predicting a Lion win even, but you can expect a fired up bunch to get off the bus ready to hit, help you up, and hit you again. They came out flat against Wayne Co., and let one of the best 1A teams in the state whip them in the first half good. The second half was different...two of the first three plays in the second half had hits worthy of a season highlight reel, and they didn't let up from there. Lots of post's suggesting that cramps alone allowed SH to outplay WC, but that's not the case. Both teams had kids with cramps, but the Lions were laying some serious wood to the 'Cats as well, and running the ball right up the gut for big chunks of yardage. I don't expect Scotts Hill to have a "soft" start to this game, and If you win, you'll have earned it.

Well, considering I'm a TCA Lion fan and will be attending the Adamsville/TCA game I doubt I will see any Bulldogs. I will be pulling for the SH Lions though! Great to watch them build a program from the ground up and take pride in their community!

I too think the Lions come out and play very physical this Friday night. They came out this past Saturday night and couldn't get if going in the first half.Hats off to a very good Wayne county team. No excuses. I will say this that anybody that plays the Lions will know they been in a football game. They have averaged a couple shots each game that are worthy of high light films. I fully expect this to be the same ..strap em on boys and play...if u beat them you will have earned it this week and if that's the case I will give the Hickman county bulldogs all credit in the world. Not going to predict a win either because I have not seen the Bulldogs in person and I would be basing my opinion on preseason polls or other people's opinion.Scotts hill has gotten better over the years and that's a reflection of great leadership. They have lots of things to improve on...but just the way they play I think keeps them in contention for a region title. Time will tell. Hope everyone stays healthy !

    • Eagleville hosting shows laziness on the part of the TSSAA and a complete disregard for the appearance of impartiality. Absolutely nothing against EHS. Its not their fault TSSAA is lazy.    I understand EHS staff work the games at Eagleville, and they don’t want to miss the EHS games. However this isn’t rocket science. It would take less than 1 hour to cross-train EHS and RHS volunteers at the opposite sites. If Eagleville (or any host)  makes the tournament, flip their game site and have the volunteers flip sites for the days their school plays at the opposite site. Magically the school’s fans would be present to watch the their kids play and the kids at least lose some familiarity and home field advantage.  It takes almost no effort and is a ~15 minute extra drive.
    • We feel the pain!
    • Jason Lambert should be the only choice for the Baseball coaching position.
    • From the stats I found online it looks like Gabe Eddington- .484, 44 total hits, 43 runs scored and 42 stolen bases.Meanwhile, on the mound, the Austin Peay commit had a record of 8-2, while compiling 50 innings pitched with an ERA of 1.82. Carson Parrott - 7-0 overall as a starting pitcher with a 1.41 ERA, 95 strikeouts and a save in 53 and 1/3 innings pitched. Parrott hit .392 with 3 home runs, 21 RBIs with a .566 OBP and .716 SLG. Jaxon Walker - .454, 53 hits, 38 RBI’s, 9 HRs.   Not saying the other three aren’t deserving but Quillen had better BA than all three and was just as dominate pitching.  Like I said I don’t know how you leave off the 3a Baseball player of the year last year when he put up better numbers.  I know Greeneville’s Coach wasn’t happy about it saying “I don’t give a s*** what anybody else says. That kid is the best player in Tennessee, and everybody else on our team rises to his level“.  I’m sure winning another State Championship as a junior is more important to Carson than the individual award, it’s just a head scratcher to not be nominated
