You're exactly right. I believe some think of a safety as the last line of defense when in some people's schemes they want the safety to make a lot of tackles.

Blow it on a safety blitz on a fast team and you know what happens . . . you watch Johnny Sisco run by you or watch  McClain catch it down field.

They are great against the Veer especially if the defense is running a strong safety and free safety.  That's how Bobby Bowden defenses played the veer.

That's how we played GCA, Sull North and others...A smart safety with some guts rarely get's caught off guard

Yeah it's called not having double digit starters out, but that is just an excuse if you ask a Bama fan. Having captains/NFL talent on the sidelines didn't have any impact on the game at all.

It's game day!!! Looks as if some of our main Pirate contributors will in fact be back for tonight's show down on the speedway. This will be the first game since being tested against the small purple people. I look for SP to pick back up where they left off before all injuries. This game will really be able to let McQueen show case his talents opposed from the horrible teams that we have played.
