Update 10/14 6A & 5A 2017 Regions

So Gibbs, Seymour, and Carter have announced their intentions to move up to 5A. I would expect Regions 1 through 4 to look something like this:

TN High
Mo East
Crockett
Boone
Volunteer
Cherokee
Cocke Co

 

Region 2:

Sevier Co
Knox Central
Gibbs
Carter
Seymour
South Doyle
Halls

 

Region 3:

Catholic
Powell
West
Oak Ridge
Campbell Co

Clinton
Karns

 

Region 4:

Lenoir City
Rhea Co
Walker Valley
Soddy-Daisy
White Co

 

I could also see TSSAA trying to move another team into Region 4. They'd have to move someone like Central or Halls to Region 3, then add Catholic to Region 4.

You are correct. I was referring to teams from Chattanooga or Hamilton County.

If they put Catholic in the region with the other Knoxville teams, don't they have to play them or take a loss?

no they just don't want to get cheated by a private ,you want a level playing field join the rest of the privates if not good luck finding games silver spoon.lol.lol

Sure, assuming they end up in Region 2 or 3. But there's an outside chance they'd end up in Region 4.

If you know they are cheating you should snatch the silver spoon from their mouths and turn them in.

They will either do that or make Fulton, Carter , Seymour and Gibbs go back to join AC .. only a 5 team region and if UC does decide to play football then the teams only have to get 5 non conference .. games .. it is only a request to move up.. in this case it's all or none IMO .. thoughts ??

yeah walker valley wants no part of 6A, i can only imagine their coaches and admin thanked the good lord for saving them from that beat down.

Yeah. It would be like when Bradley had those 0 10 1 and 9 teams. Or worse. Who coached them then Ratledge? Or The guy who jumped around everywhere?
