It is going to take someone who can deal with quite a bit of negativity.  Looking back at Franklin County football posts, there does not seem to be a lot of positive vibes around the program right now.

positive vibes? unbelievable! a guy gets fired and you see positive in that. great support in FC?

Rampage, here is your chance.

Though I can see that a change needed to be made, I am not the guy for the job.  I do not have the qualifications or the desire to do that.  I would hope there is someone out there that would care about the kids the way a Carr or Mantooth would, but I doubt Carson will be coming back to FC a third time.

Who would want this job? A school board and administration that will not support their hire. Parents who tell little Johnny he isn't playing because the mean old coach is no good. Folks who know everything about how you ought to do your job, but can't do theirs as a parent or a real supporter of the program. Guess what, 2 years to build a system from thr ground up ain't gonna happen. This is not College, where you get to recruit your players. You have to grow them train them... beginning in pee wee leagues, through middle school and into high school.

Look at te successful schools in the state.. Maryville Blackman, Oakland, Smyrna, Whitehaven Indy... they all have the same type system ... pee wee, rolls to middle and middle feeds high school. They are all endoctrinated in the same fundamentals for 4-6 years before they hit High School... they are playing disciplined ball. not just learning proper technique at that point.

If you ever want to have somebody worth a flip, you gotta get behind them and support them. It is not a sprint it is a marathon. Winning season or winning program whats most important?

    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
