She messes up his title and calls him the wrong name and we should calm ourselves? Nah, she was likely told his title a lot White people have a hard time calling BLACK People in academia Doctor. I've seen it and heard stories from Ph.Ds who have lived it.

Yep she went into that interview with the mindset "I'm white and superior, therefor I will not call him Dr." Give me a break BHS, leave the politics and stick to football.

I'm glad I decided a long time ago not to hold anything you say against the other Whitehaven Fans . By doing that I discovered that Whitehaven has some great fans on here . I really hope other people across the State don't pre-Judge Whitehaven because of you , but sadly , I bet some do . I despise Racism , no matter where it comes from .

I thought the interview was absolutely great.  She did fine, and he was exquisite.  He handled himself very, very, very well.  You guys should be proud, and you obviously are.  But she did fine, there's no way she knew he was a Dr. and he doesn't seem like the guy who would boast about being a Dr.  Calm yourselves.

He's classy. It has nothing to do with bragging or boasting. It has everything to do with professionalism. You address a PhD as Dr. It's just common courtesy and a show of respect for the title. It's the professional way to handle that type of interview.

But to end the segment by calling him Mr. Taylor. That was just awful. I'm being nice here. At LEAST get the man's name right.

He's not going to make a fuss about it because that's the type of guy he is. He probably felt sorry for her in how she bungled things.

No big deal to Dr. Hunter because he used the opportunity to promote the school. He got out of it what he wanted.

Let me take it one step further. When I go to the games and I see him in the stands, I address my friend and class mate as "Dr. Hunter" when in public. Especially when he is in his element at the football games. He's always the Principal of Whitehaven where ever he goes. When I am with him and it is just us, or some other of my class mates who may be at the game or whatever, and we AREN'T in the public spotlight. I call him  by his first name without the title. I am fully aware and cognizant of when and where I am when I address him. He's my classmate and a friend. He's also earned my respect to address him as Dr. when we are in public. To address him otherwise in public, is just downright disrespectful. He and I never have had a conversation about when and where I address him as Dr. I do it automatically out of courtesy and respect. We don't have to have that conversation.

I am calm however.

I still call him Coach Hunter. She was probably nervous from all that awesomeness he was exuding...

    • Eagleville hosting shows laziness on the part of the TSSAA and a complete disregard for the appearance of impartiality. Absolutely nothing against EHS. Its not their fault TSSAA is lazy.    I understand EHS staff work the games at Eagleville, and they don’t want to miss the EHS games. However this isn’t rocket science. It would take less than 1 hour to cross-train EHS and RHS volunteers at the opposite sites. If Eagleville (or any host)  makes the tournament, flip their game site and have the volunteers flip sites for the days their school plays at the opposite site. Magically the school’s fans would be present to watch the their kids play and the kids at least lose some familiarity and home field advantage.  It takes almost no effort and is a ~15 minute extra drive.
    • We feel the pain!
    • Jason Lambert should be the only choice for the Baseball coaching position.
    • From the stats I found online it looks like Gabe Eddington- .484, 44 total hits, 43 runs scored and 42 stolen bases.Meanwhile, on the mound, the Austin Peay commit had a record of 8-2, while compiling 50 innings pitched with an ERA of 1.82. Carson Parrott - 7-0 overall as a starting pitcher with a 1.41 ERA, 95 strikeouts and a save in 53 and 1/3 innings pitched. Parrott hit .392 with 3 home runs, 21 RBIs with a .566 OBP and .716 SLG. Jaxon Walker - .454, 53 hits, 38 RBI’s, 9 HRs.   Not saying the other three aren’t deserving but Quillen had better BA than all three and was just as dominate pitching.  Like I said I don’t know how you leave off the 3a Baseball player of the year last year when he put up better numbers.  I know Greeneville’s Coach wasn’t happy about it saying “I don’t give a s*** what anybody else says. That kid is the best player in Tennessee, and everybody else on our team rises to his level“.  I’m sure winning another State Championship as a junior is more important to Carson than the individual award, it’s just a head scratcher to not be nominated
