GQ opening leaves the AD spot open too so who will pull the strings for next hire? I know if I was a Maryville fan I'd much rather GQ be pulling the strings than the principal or whoever else will be.

Don't want him (Rankin), personally I would want another coach in the county that could pick up right where he left off....

Rankin doesn't throw the ball enough for Maryville fans. Ain't happening. Gary isn't that young himself. I doubt he will be coaching too many more years.

Rankin isn't leaving Alcoa. Nix isn't leaving either. Alcoa is a better job at present moment. The pay is equal and the road to the state titles is much easier.

The best head coach in the State of Tennessee behind GQ is Derek Rang. He is a product of GQ and has a championship under his belt and just 32 years old.
