What! We still have to beat David Crockett next Monday before we even get to state. It is nice to see confidence in OR but this was not posted by an Oak Ridge fan.

 

Right now (IMO) East boys and Riverdale girls are the favorites.

I think Oakridge has the best chance of a non Memphis of giving them a good game Edited by mcon6983

It probably has to do with TSSAA regulations. 3 week dead period after season is over and underclassmen playing in all-star game type stuff.

It is really because the TSSAA doesn't care about student-athletes and increasing exposure for not only East but the entire state. This is ridiculous they are letting archaic rules get in the way.

Well, regulations can always be amended as time passes. This type of situation may be just the thing to get the TSSAA to re-evalaute the current policy and maybe put some language in the regs to allow a team to participate in a post season tourney like Dick's.

It won't be the case as Football Teams and baseball players in the past have tried to get them to change their rules and they refuse to do what is best for student-athletes.

      TSSAA restrictions for hiring non-faculty coaches have been removed for over a year at this point. In the past a non-faculty person had to be "grandfathered" by being an assistant coach for five years, being fingerprinted, and having a background check run per TSSAA rules... since those were rescinded, the board of directors for the school district are responsible for any/all restrictions on hiring non-faculty personnel. I guess what I'm saying to you is that if you really wanted what you posted, it's already possible as long as your local BOE will allow for it.
