Good luck to you guys, Machine. The west side of the bracket will be very interesting this year.

You guys as well. Gotta root for the tornadoes on the east side since I have an official "Goon Squad" shirt now. Will be tough on our side with Trezevant and Pearl but we got alittle offensive fire power. Check out the article on the coach t homepage about the top 5 rb's in the Jackson area. We got 2 of them. Hope the defensive side of the ball gels well.

You know BPM,like last year....I'm pulling for the Purple Bulldogs out of the West side of the state! I see Milan..Trezvant...PC matchups in the playoffs for sure.

I think the offense will be fine with the two headed monster at rb and starting qb returning. Defense will definitely be tested against Trezevant and PC. Gotta a lot of respect for those two teams. Even though I do have a couple of fish nibbling at my bait on the PC/ Springfield scrimmage thread!! 😂😂

I was at the game this evening and no one even recognized me at all and I sat right on the fifty yard line. Turned out to be a good scrimmage game. Prayers for the young man that might have broke his leg.

Clean break. Heard he should be out eight weeks! ðŸ‘ðŸ»

Yea,Alcoa had a player break a leg. That's the last thing you want to see happen whether it is spring, summer or fall. The good news is we are hearing is the surgery when well, and he should be back on the field in 8-10 weeks.

As crisp as the team looked in Monday's Scrimmage...Friday a great Cookeville team magnified area's where continued practice is needed.

Both 1st teams had scoring drives. Cookeville's on a great run for 40+ yards from the RB #3. Great player. I was impressed with his play and the QB.

Alcoa's 1st team moved across the field in their first drive scoring in 5 plays. On defense Alcoa stopped a long drive by Cookeville on the goal line. They had it first and goal at the two, only to be stuffed 4 plays later at the 6 inch line. Great stand, only it was followed by the Alcoa Offense given up a safety minutes later, as the Cookeville defense opened the flood gates with Alcoa playing in the back of the end zone.

After that, both team started rotating in 2nd and 3rd teamers.

Both teams had scores.

Pretty even matchup, with both offensive lines struggling at times. Alcoa was without their best defensive player, and the starting DB's still running track.

All in all ,a great spring practice and scrimmage except for the injury.

    • Who’s going to lead the pirates offense this year?
    • Pickett is good, may have a Mr. Football like season if he’s used correctly. One of the best teams Marion has fielded in a while. I think they go 12-1 and loose to ER.  ER has better players at almost every position. If they play discipline this year, they win soundly. If they don’t though…Marion could sneak away with it.
    • I’m betting the house on the Indians. Pickett and Co will be the only team to challenge the Indians in the East. Huntingdon can in the West. I think Brooks goes 15-0 and has the first perfect season and state championship in ER history.
    • Sounds like a great opportunity has opened up for the football team.  With the head coach of the diamond rebels making it official and quitting this week, there should be some room for the gridiron guys to benefit. I assume the administration won’t continue paying six figures to two former coach that quit to continue teaching drivers Ed. Thats pretty good money that could be redirected toward the football program. Also, with the more recent policies of pushing kids to only play one sport, abolishing the baseball program altogether would help on Friday nights in the fall. There is some decent speed on that baseball team that should’ve been playing on Fridays IMO. I’m not sure if anybody would really miss that baseball program anyway with it being across town from the school. The liability of letting players actually use the facilities could also be mitigated with closing the program. That liability seems to be a really big issue for 825. Anyway, it seems like a great opportunity is available.
    • Yeah, I read about their spring blue/gray scrimmage after I typed that.   Sounds like a real mess over there.  I just hate that for 'em.  Haw
