GIJoe
I was at the track meet and those kids were smoking. In regards to Graham, he did not run as well as he did last year. He looks bigger and that may be a factor. Also if he works out heavy during track it will affect the football players speed.A administrator from Oak Ridge said their football players have to do football workout after track practice. If that's the case then it will effect their legs. Look for them to get back in track speed in about 2 weeks. But I seen Graham on TV and live and he is fast. Track speed and field speed or different. Barrett is fast on track but not fast on field. Graham, Howard, Forbes, etc. are fast on the field and a track. Very proud of our RB Aaron Dykes. He looked faster. How are your lines on both sides? I'm worried about ours? Do you return your QB?

Unless Gaddis has a really late Spring practice, which he has been doing the past few years. If he does that then he could be.
Hepcat
Or we just aren't as fast as I thought we were. When your fastest guy finishes 9th and 10th in his best races that's not good and I don't care what they've been working on. My expectations aren't as high as yours after these track results. Go to milesplit and look up the HVA meet. It's awful. Look at the individual results and then the team results. The team results will blow you away because of the teams who beat us...and beat us real bad. Some of those schools are known as slow and unathletic schools. If we aren't very fast with very few linemen (don't care what the Knox guy says), we're in trouble. Forget milesplit. Go to the meets and watch these guys. JG is fast. 11.1 in the 100 is good. He happened to run an 11.3 or 5 at HVA. The winner at HVA (Webb wunderkid) ran 10.87 that day and won. At OR Saturday he ran an 11.39 and got 4th. You don't run faster at every meet contrary to what you may believe. Your "expectations aren't as high....after these track results"??? It was the first track meet we had! Lighten up Francis, and don't always act the the sky is falling. While at HVA and talking with the McMinn Central coach he was looking forward to his 4x100 team getting "checked". He said his guys thought they were the fastest things around, and today was the day they found out otherwise. He said they needed to learn this before they could get faster. You've essentially equated JG getting 9th at the first meet and the results you read on milesplit with a 1-9 football season. You're reaching, and you need to get out more. You actually make some sense and I sure hope you're right. I NEVER expect JG to finish a race 9th or 10th, at least around here. I'll try to get out more...LOL
catswild
HaHa!! Catswild knows zilch about track. Why must you be a jacka$$? (Uh oh...here comes Rebelman to the rescue) You don't know what I know, or don't know about track. This is what I do know...it's never good to finish 9th or 10th in a track meet (how about that SS? I actually DO know a little about track!) I figured you and your Knox buddy would play the blame game...it must be the fault of the football staff that JG ran poorly in his first meet. I'm sure it's the fault of the football staff that the boys bb team lost to East. Heck, I'm sure our football staff was responsible for the shocking loss by UConn. You haven't bashed our staff lately...you better catch up, and bring your Knox buddy on board too!

But, finishing 9th or 10th with an 11.1 at a meet with I think 55 runners is NOT running poorly. Around 44 schools and 1400 athletes, it's a good meet to go to. Like I said the winner there (10.87) ran an 11.39 Saturday. I think JG will run in the 10's this season. I also think AE has some of the fastest runners I've seen. Their 4x100 is something to watch. Thanks for the information. It's good to know that we still have someone on here who actually is civil and informative. We have way too many "know it alls" who love to demean and belittle one another and our coaches. They make Oak Ridgers sound ignorant, stupid, and uneducated. It's the coaching staffs fault that you're such a drama queen. How's that? Edited April 3, 2017 by SweetScience
