I put 6 there. And i agree there could be a couple more. I had Zach Thomas 2 matches away at 106, losing to Devaney and then eliminated by Isbell. And Nathan Porter at 132 losing to Jalen Henry in the quarters and then eliminated by Chase Brown, also 2 matches from placing.

Ok, Ok.  By popular request, I'll go ahead and put out my list.  And I realize it will be highly accurate and TSSAA will be tempted to cancel the tournament and use my results, but just so you all don't get too carried away, I think they will still wrestle it out this weekend.

For the record, I'm not against Soddy, you will notice I've picked a few of their wrestlers to take it home and non from Arlington.  But we will score lots in the wrestle backs.  We're a Saturday morning kind of team this year.

106 Nelson over Horst

113 Hicks over Palmer

120 Martin over Sesnan/Dooley

126 Wheaton over Burns

132 McElhaney over Landers

138 Pendley over Ingram

145 Fuller over Chambers/Wilson

152 Rippy over Matthews

160 Sells over Garrett

170 McMahon over Smith

182 Salter over Fortner

195 Walling over Spangler

220 Demello over Boeck

285 Boykin over Kramer

looks like Martin is 1--2  against Dooley

I think people are sleeping on the Summit kids. They could put 8 on the medal stand.

I'll tell you who everyone is sleeping on, Science Hill!  They have shown all year long that they belong at the top!  Third in State Duals already and multiple tournament championships.  Fell just a few points short at Region but they will come through this weekend.  I'm picking the Toppers as state runner up--6 individual place winners, 2 champions, and several others very deep in their brackets.

Agree and don't be surprised what Higgins brings to state!!

Bears will take it all, the young blue raiders will gain the big dance experience to begin another dynasty over All Divisions with Bradley and Baylor on their heels, Beech will be coming back soon and Ryan, as we often see, will too with their two team system, early transfigured to late season ;)

"Whoa now... calm down. I agree everyone is overlooking a few of our kids after they have already beaten kids on these lists and proven to be one of the top 6 in their weight... But I'd rather us be the sleepers that show up when it matters and overperform. Let's not set us up to underperform." --KingGreen

I too believe some SH kids have been overlooked. I would probably agree with your predictions next year as they are very good young team. I see 3-5 placers

We have beat several kids on this list. I like the sleeper role too but those who know realize we are a threat. We will show up this week! Looking forward to a great weekend and our boys and girls making Johnson City proud.

    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
