Ok, Ok.  By popular request, I'll go ahead and put out my list.  And I realize it will be highly accurate and TSSAA will be tempted to cancel the tournament and use my results, but just so you all don't get too carried away, I think they will still wrestle it out this weekend.

For the record, I'm not against Soddy, you will notice I've picked a few of their wrestlers to take it home and non from Arlington.  But we will score lots in the wrestle backs.  We're a Saturday morning kind of team this year.

106 Nelson over Horst

113 Hicks over Palmer

120 Martin over Sesnan/Dooley

126 Wheaton over Burns

132 McElhaney over Landers

138 Pendley over Ingram

145 Fuller over Chambers/Wilson

152 Rippy over Matthews

160 Sells over Garrett

170 McMahon over Smith

182 Salter over Fortner

195 Walling over Spangler

220 Demello over Boeck

285 Boykin over Kramer

You are pretty spot on about them not being able to fill spots. Kids in the Memphis area want to play football, basketball, or baseball bc everyone of them is going to play professional sports in their own mind. The majority of region 8's and CBHS' studs started wrestling in youth clubs early on like most of the kids across the state. It's just hard getting kids out if they don't have a parent or football coach pushing them to try it.

And FWIW, I have only seen Soddy wrestle two or three times this season, but Boeck sure is fun to watch. I haven't seen very many 220's that can move like that kid. I'd really like to see him wrestle Wathall from CBHS. They both wrestle like 170's.

Yes and that's one reason why Chattanooga usually sucks in football and doesn't bring home the state championships HAHA, we get the best to actually participate in the best sport and so it makes strong teams around this area and the North Georgia area that's really close to Chattanooga also!

Yes the Walthall and Ty match would prob be a pretty good match, I know it doesn't always make a difference but Hooker from Father Ryan beat Ty Boeck a few weeks ago 3-2 and Hooker lost to Walthall the other day 7-6, so i would take Walthall on it, but it would be a close match.

I pray that everyone has a great weekend of wrestling and the wrestlers stay safe and stay away from injuries and wrestle to the best of their abilities and leave no regrets out on the mat. Good Luck to all the teams and wrestlers!

    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
