Minor's the starter until further notice. And no, they won't be a pushover, but with Hillsboro and Beech in front, they also won't be any better than third in that region. Plus, if you're judging a run-first team's potential based on 7-on-7s, you're going to be extremely disappointed come playoff time.

Your right Minor is the starter, just pointing out the fact that several were getting valuable reps at the position.  Winning 7 on 7's is nice and all but I in no way shape or size are putting stock in that to base a season on.  Just noting that the passing game is far from awful and the running game should be fine with what they have in the backfield.  But if you think we here in Gallatin will just settle for third then you might be disappointed.  Hillsboro is not the same Hillsboro under Clayton and Lopez and Beech's time is coming too.  Just watch come playoff time.

Yea, PC, PearlC , Pearl-Cohn......least that's what the rumor was. I think he would play tb for Macon, not know what he played last season.

MC got a transfer out of Westwood high school in Memphis. He's going to be a speedy back for MC if he can stay healthy.

How has he done thus summer?

I'm not saying you'll settle for third, but Beech is a state contender with a ton of experience coming back and Hillsboro will still have a ton of talent. I've seen too many games with those teams to believe that the narrative is going to change. It's going to be terribly hard to replace Ponchez's production and it won't happen with one guy. And with four 6A teams on it, that schedule's not easy except for the non-Hillsboro Metro teams. 5-5 is a real possibility, best case is beating Hillsboro and/or Beech and getting to 7-3 or 8-2.

The good news is that Region 6 should fare very well in the postseason. Columbia Central and Lincoln County are the top dogs in Region 5 and they're not the juggernauts they used to be.

I don't see Beech being a state contender and I believe Hillsboro's coaching is not what it was.  Having said that, you are right.  Ponchez's production will be hard to replace.  That is why the coaches have signaled that the passing game will be utilized more this year which gets back to the original post about Macon Co.  Minor threw for right under 900 yards last year with a 2000 yard rusher.  This year he will probably get to air it out more often.  Having 2 good transfers in Perry and Fitts will boost that part of the offense.  No too mention the defense.  5-5 is a possibility but 7-3 to 8-2 I think is more realistic.

I also would put Franklin Co and Summit ahead of Columbia and Lincoln Co as of right now.  But I agree again that region is not near as formidable as it once was.
