TheAmbassador
We have two week dead period at the end of June and first of July in Tennessee as well. We also have a dead period once the season ends. Our kids starting lifting in January, but if they are playing other sports that's fine too. If kids are only football players then they have to lift. It's done during school as well.
Mysonis55
I can't figure why y'all aren't getting the numbers we are. We average around 60 players each year. I think our school is smaller though.

Yes, to an extent. Just curious about numbers from peewee through high school.
fallguy17
According to a gruff old retired football coach I know: "Kids are just not tuff any more". I guess there are multiple variables.
BigEdMo
Kids now days want immediate gratification. Football is a sport that teaches delayed gratification. A football players works in the weight room, the practice field and the video room all year for the guaranty of the of 10 games a year. So kids gravitate toward sports like basketball and baseball where you play 2 or 3 games a week. Plus summer league games. Unfortunately life is not immediate gratification. Kids think that when they finish school they are going to go straight into upper management or higher. They do not understand it takes time to work up through life. And that is what football can teach kids.

Just seems like we all want instant success, but forget about the word and patience and what it means.

Well Peabody was ranked 10th. If they are the 10th best team 2A is super stacked. They are the real deal!!
