This is the Volquest podcast after the UT/Georgia game weekend. Go to the 24:12 mark to hear them talk football recruiting and what they thought about the trio's official visit, the Big O (Omari Thomas from Briarcrest) and Reggie Grimes (Ravenwood).

Havenview is the Whitehaven feeder school. They have done exceptionally well in the large middle school classification for the past 10 years, or so, winning the championship game quite a few times. The WH DC has served as the Havenview HC in recent history. I don't know if that is still the case, but this is a good thing for WH football's future, no doubt. Go get'em Havenview on Tuesday, October 22, 2019.

How Havenview got there!

Congrats to Bellvue middle for making it back to the championship game. The HC at Bellvue Middle is a WH alumn, as well as, the father of the current WH QB. Go get'em Bellvue! Bellvuue has been a dominant forve in the small middle school classification for the past 10 years otr so as well.

Will the winner  play in the TMSAA West Tn State champ game? Inman Middle School in Paris has won that several times. It seems like they always play a Memphis school. They’re a feeder school to Henry County.

I don't know. @dannyq or @coach10ac, can one of you answer that?

    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
