You shouldn't have lost to Coalfield in 2012. Gordonsville beat them pretty good in the semifinals and just kinda toyed with them that night.

Coalfield beating us was justfiable by the way our coach prepared us.I went to ALL of the practises from 2008 (i actually helped with the DEs that year) till 2013 so i seen and heard more than i should.After 2008 when the next coach took over he tried to do WAY too much and the week of Coalfield informed our kids that it wasnt going to be a game!Said they had NOTHING for us and we would walk to the semis.Then that embarrassing loss happened.I was soo sick,i was looking forward to the Gville semis just like 87 it was the 25th year,the rest is history.

Yea, I saw you boys play that season. I watched Gordonsville and Greenback at different times that year. I knew Gordonsville was the favorite, but we would have to win our quadrant at the time just to see Greenback. I want to say I watched your 2012 team play Grace Christian live, but I can't be sure. That's been a few years.

I'm not sure if this is the same year but there was one year that we were inside the 5 yard line and made several bad play calls and came away with nothing!!

Definitely was 2012. We lost 13-6 to a Grace team that went to Pitt and got a big win. Then in the playoffs Pitt lost by a point (I think) to Gordonsville. That's why I don't think it's a given that 2012 GB couldn't have played with Gordonsville. Guess we will never know.

Glad to see you chime in.You me and 1925 all three know the disappointment in that year,also you all in 2014 but that 2012 team was special it should have had an opportunity to play for a gold ball,at least play the semis.We were let down dramatically by our coaching staff! Just to say we got outcoached by that Coalfield bunch leaves a bad taste in my mouth but that's exactly what happened. That one will always be hard to get over having that much talent and then them screw it up that bad.

      Problem with DB football goes beyond coaching. Like Waco said. Thr band is the main focus of their community and school. They have the resources to be a championship level team. Guarantee Ballard or Witten could have them nationally relevant at some point but everyone down to peewee would have to buy in and at DB we all know that would never happen.

      5star put out and article about the QB competition for Clinton like they have 9 other schools. They listed a QB that was previously on Powell’s roster last year. He was the Frosh that could throw great wearing number 5. He was not mentioned as a transfer.  HC was quoted in getting two running back transfers one being from OR that has been mentioned on these boards as well as another from TKA.  I had heard about these and more transfers. It is impressive that Clinton is able to steal away from the recruiter at Powell.  I wonder if the issue with the principal will change that or open the gates even more.
