I have watched both play. Here is my take, if u go alone off stats Dishman will be hard to beat. She is a great high school basketball talent and has worked extremely hard. Now the skinny and I am sure to ruffle feathers but nothin personal. If there was a high school draft and I was coaching and I had the number #1 pick ,I am choosin Levy for my point guard. her ball handling skills ,quickness ,mental awareness, moves, is just off the charts. She makes everyone around her better, she is a 1 and a million player ,u just don't see everyday. Good luck to both young ladies.

In the last 30 years there have been a number of players on the top teams  in the Upper Cumberland region that have averaged 20-25 ppg.  Could they have averaged 30 a game?  In some cases i believe there have been a handful that could of IF it had been important to the coach.  Great coaches respect the game!  What message are you sending when it's 84-36 and your best player is still in the game with 6 minutes to go in the 4th?   Does the score of the game matter or is it the  players point total?  What can a coach be thinking ?  If your best player is in the game when you are leading by 25 or more then the leader of the team has an agenda.  Humility and sportsmanship should be a given.   Show some class!  Respect the game and your opponent.

Couldn't agree more. I know of many players who have the ability to score over 30 every night but yet when the teams are above by 20+ the bench gets to play. Putting the team before a single player's stats is more beneficial in the long run and will make the bench stronger. Pays off in the long run for sure.

So, if you or your child were playing, you would ask to be taken out of the game, or tell the coach to take your child out of the game?   I've been a part of, or around the game for close to 50 years, and I've never seen a real competitor ask to be taken out of a game. So, if you were ever a real player, I don't believe you.   There are very few teams at any level who pulls all their starters when they have a large lead.   Give us the names of the teams who pull all their starters when they're ahead by 20

First off, I never knew it was the player's decision on when to be put in the game and when to be taken out of the game. If a team is well on their the way to beating another team by a score of 90-30, why would the coach not take out the starter when they aren't needed and give the younger players some experience? It'd be crazy not to. Also not sure a coach would want to risk a player getting injured in a game where they don't need them as much just so they can get their stats up. So I guess my detention of a "real competitor" is someone who wants best for their team as a whole and not just for theirselves.

Give us the name of some of the coaches who pull their starters when they're up 20.  So you think that basketball should be a socialist sport, that should be lowered to the lowest or worst players, instead of raised to the level of the best players?

So you think there should be no awards or honors? No goal to strive for? No bar to reach?  Not keep score and no winners or losers? Just tell them they're all equal?  Is that your idea of a competitive sport?

You love putting words in people's mouths. Never said any of that nor implied it. Just gonna guess you're the type of person who would leave all the starters in the whole game even if the score was 110-30. I know there are coaches who would do that. But those who have any class at all would let players on the bench have playing time in that scenario instead of giving certain players 40 points. It's a whole different story when the two teams are close and a player scores over 30 points.

    • And can you tell me who those two quarterbacks were, and every kid that was put into college from Bearden is a Bearden kid? It’s kind of why they graduated from Bearden.   and I would definitely not consider ETSU “waste”…
    • Most of this is complete gibberish. But the one part I could decipher is putting kids in college. This coaching staff hasn’t put a single Bearden kid in college. They completed wasted one of the best WRs in East TN and have ruined two talented QBs. All because they’re in over their heads.
    • Well, I’d hope the new coaching staff thinks they are all that because they can always walk around the school, anytime they want, thinking that, especially for what they’ve done for the student athletes and the players, putting more kids in college in his first season than the old coaching staff did in numerous years combined, but we will just sweep over that because I know you don’t like facts. But trust me, nobody wanted Mr. Big britches, made the star player switch to quarterback, which is ultimately the reason he ended up transferring to play the position. He loved, but unfortunately, had to be at another school because Mr. Big Britches doesn’t like when a teenager knows more than him, but can’t expect much coming from a guy who used all class throwing pencils up into the ceiling and making fun of football kids who were failing class right to their face, and in front of numerous students, even projecting on the board most of the time.
    • After that first paragraph, I can see why you’re a TA and not a teacher. Have you made the move from South Knoxville to Bearden yet?    Maybe he left because he is an actual teacher and coach, and didn’t want to be associated with a group of foul mouthed middle school coaches who like to pretend they’re big time.
    • Yeah and the coach is gone. Whole bizarre situation here. We played them a couple of times at MTSU last few years. She was a player for sure.
