York was the top "Tomorrow's Headlines" on Friday Night Thunder program with 492 total yards vs Cumberland Co's 52. 41-0 at CCHS. But, it was CCHS with tough Coalfield next week. Uppetman had a big win over Cookeville but Cookeville graduated almost every starter, but still a big win. Cannon Co eon big over RBS but there won't be any more easy ones. Smith Co off to great start over Macon Co.  Grungy Co. had a big win too. Sequatchie Co lost to tough S. Pittsburg. Good night for the region.

Other than the Sasquatch getting beat I’d say pretty good.  Only surprise is upperman beat a cookeville team that graduated 304 starters from last year.

Do you mean the same school that has 2400 students to choose from. Cookeville was still picked top 50% fo 6a . UHS is the real deal. If you are using the reasoning for CHS losing then your same philosophy would have to work the other way. UHS is returning i believe 10 on offense and 10 on defense. Most have been playing since sophomore year.  Can't have it both ways.

Great win by Upperman. Always pull for smaller schools vs big 6A cookie cutter student factories. However, Cookeville is way down. No way the cavilers are in top 50% of 6A schools. 6a is more top heavy this year than the past, but Cookeville will lose multiple games this year by at least 3 TDs.

3A Pearl Cohn might be one of those teams

Cookeville has around 130 players each year. Around 40 on the freshman team and dress anywhere from 90 to 99 players. Yes they lost 22 players last year but have 108 players returning. No excuse for them verse a 3a.

    • Dyersburg may win back to back to back championships. They are going to be hands down the best 3A team. Plus their District/region/sectionals are not very good. They basically just have to make it to region out of a 5 team district that has a few decent teams. South Gibson will be okay but they graduate their best player and there is nobody in the region 7 or region 8 who is going to compete with them.
    • I remember very well watching things change in the late 80's and yes it's all schools. Most people that are in charge today have any idea because they were raised and taught under this social experiment so they don't have a clue. Anyone that does see the truth for what it is usually try and hide it by blending in so that the School Gestapo doesn't round them up and take them to the Fuhrer ( kindly putting it ). Yes it is all schools not just Maryville. This train ride is not headed in a good direction and if the public had seen a movie of what's happening now back in 1980 everyone would have been headed home afterwards to change underware.
    • Hoping to make the playoffs.
    • You are so correct!  It’s really 99.9% of academia want to change to way that education is not only taught but the way it is viewed.  The pendulum has definitely swung as far to the left as possible and eventually will swing to the right much too far.  I have always  said that politics and one’s personal religious views need to stay out of education,  but for the last 40 years education has been running full throttle to what we have today.  If the social experiment that we are currently experiencing continues it is only a matter of time before the public school system in the USA completely collapses and all kids attend private schools or even worse don’t go to school.
    • He was a bruise but Aaron Dykes is HVA’s best RB ever.
