Keep thinking that if you want but I wasn't impressed with either team, WC had 5 turnovers, Stown should have won by 50 the way WC played

Well, Summertown was the better team tonight, but the way we played again tonight,  " an continuation  of last weeks game" it didn't  take much to beat us!  Not trying to take away from Summertown, but its going to be a long year if we don't get the ship righted, quick!  Can't keep turning over the ball, we just aren't that good!  Good luck to Summertown the rest of the year!

Shocked! Did the game end 7-0???

No WC took the lead 8-7 late in the game then gave up a long pass play to the one yard line and Stown scored on next play and got the two point conversion to go up 15-8. WC couldn't convert on 4th down turning the ball back over with just over a minute left, Stown scored again on the short field and won 22-8

Y’all will get it turned around. Turnovers hurt!

Summertown shouldn't even be able to host a football game, no bleachers at all

Just wanted to reply to this... the field at Summertown has been constructed with 100% donations and volunteer labor. No tax payer money has been given to aid with anything at the location. The only thing paid for by the school system is the light bill and the porta-johns. If not for the generosity of the community and and few dedicated individuals, there would not be a football program in Summertown. A program that has allowed several young men that would not be involved in organized sports if not for this field and this team. A team that came several decades later than any other neighboring school. It may take us more than 4 seasons to catch up when it comes to the facility but we are certainly already competitive on the field. I heard several disparaging comments last night about the field and facilities.... I never realized that plain ole country folk were above parking in a field, walking through grass, sitting in folding chairs, and utilizing a port a potty. I guess Wayne county folk are just better than us Summertown hicks. We are expecting a new high school and football field hopefully by the 2020 season. So maybe when y’all come back for the next whooping it’ll be up to your standards.

...because where momma and daddy sits is what decides the game?  That’s laughable!  Give that town some credit. They have a football program because they built (and are building) one. Not because the Board of Education wrote a check.

No disrespect to the people who took it upon themselves to put in the work to build what y'all have but build some bleachers, you can't see from chairs when your behind the team or two bleachers you have. If the Lawrence county board of education voted to build a field at LCHS then they have to spend the same money at Stown high school so don't act like the county can't afford it

The County doesn't support Summertown like it does LCHS! We are the stepchild of the county, you know the one your proud of when they do well and are sucessfull on their own, but you have no involvement with them behind the scene. That's our relationship with the county.

Summertown isn't even allowed to have booster programs for sports or band while both of the other schools in the county do.

Go Eagles!!! Keep up the great work. Every prediction I have seen has under-estimated you. Keep the good work going.

Need to get the facts straight the football field at LCHS was built with private funding. You saying this does no good whatsoever. The county is trying to get the funding together to build a new high school at SHS. This will come with a much needed football field. The Summertown community is a great community and the fastest growing area in Law. Co. Saying the county doesn’t support Summertown is just ignorant and silly.

Let me add that the mentality of "if you won't help, just get out of the way" will add to the character of your community, and to your team. At Scotts Hill, we have had "some" help from the BOE...the community has delivered above and beyond that for the kids though, and the heart of the kids is larger and stronger for it. Don't ever think that while the players are working to get better, they aren't watching the community working to give them the opportunity to have the things that they need. I'd be proud to come to your facility and watch from the sidelines...it just might bring back some recent good memories!!!

    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
    • All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
