The schools in Tennessee along with the TSSAA should be ashamed of themselves for even calling someone a state champion with so few schools in each division. The numbers truly reflect that only 3 divisions are needed for football. Edited October 19, 2018 by cbg

That wouldn’t be fair at all.

With what is known about concussions and brain injuries nowadays. No way an Association would open themselves up to that with the difference in enrollments. Those days are gone and prolly for the better. Now we can argue there are too many classes as of now but I believe the argument of just 3 is already sailed. Good points.. we already see some schools facing double their enrollments. Less classes would make some play three times their enrollment. They got it right two years ago. Keep the same system. You fall where you fall.

That’s the dumbest thing they ever did. They have 0-10 teams going in that voodoo system.

Trousdale County goes from 388 to 360 (roughly 8% decrease) trending towards 1A for us. Republic is the biggest question, they went from 361 to 664 (roughly a 45% increase) their numbers say 3A but not sure they can move 2 classes? Which region do they get, 4 or 5? That is what I predicted for Republic back when they started football. I suspected they would be better than they are at present. It seems they aren't capitalizing on their talent. TheAmbassador
Tennessee is the ONLY state that is always changing it. Just stay with one classification system.
