Both are undefeated in Region 8, 6A. Germantown is 9-0 with a 19 game win streak. The Haven is 7-2 on the season with losses to last years D2-2A state champ, Lausanne, and last year's Arkansas 7A state champ, North Little Rock.  Both of whom are undefeated currently.

So, who are you rolling with in this one? how do you think this one plays out? Let's get it started!

Wish i could be in Memphis for this one. Having seen Germantown up close when they played Henry County, they are pretty impressive. Having the game at home with the chance for an undefeated regular season, I give them the edge.

An off topic question: is Chickasaw Middle a Whitehaven's feeder school. I was very impressed by them in the West TN sectional championship game.

They aren't a feeder for us per se BUT they close enough that some of the better players with brains will come, but they are closer to Mitchell and Fairley

Having our 6'3 250lb beast back  in the middle at full strength is a major plus. Having starting corner back is major. Having your DE, and DT back is a big plus for our Defense...all hands will be on deck for the first time all year!! But as always in G,'town should be an interesting game against the refs!!! My bad, the red devils...

What's the deal with the refs? Lets not start crying  about refs before the game starts. Lol...dang

Now you have peaked my curiosity. Please elaborate on this possible match-up between Houston and Whitehaven. I'm just dying to hear/read your analysis/prediction of such a match-up. What do you think would happen if these two teams played each other?

We'll take it one week at a time. I have my thoughts about how things will play out. It will be interesting to see.

It's just hypothetical. You don't have to wait a week to share what you think might happen if the two were to meet.

However, if you don't want to share, I understand why. It's cool.

It's not a pre-excuse type of thing. There are officials who have it in for Whitehaven. This isn't something imagined. It matters who refs a Whitehaven game. There are instances, where we have to beat them, as well as our opponent. Coach10ac didn't mis-speak. Although he said it in a joking matter. It's a real issue.

We just have learned to play/coach through it.

Just want to add:

Germantown with wins over then AP #1 ranked Henry County Class 5A, currently # 3 class 5A...8-1 record and Houston High AP # 10 class 6A; Region 7 # 1 seed....8-1 record.

From what I have seen this year , I don't think the refs have it out for anybody. I believe there are a bunch of refs that are just not very good. I honestly believe some of them don't know or understand the rules. At least that is the way it seems from some of the calls and non-calls I've seen this season. But like you said you've got to play through it.

There are those out there as well. I think everybody has experienced those. What I'm talking about is something totally different then ignorance of rules. Obscure rules or not. What i'm talking about is something more sinister.

Most refs are fair and impartial and they call it like they see it. They are human and those plays aren't going on in slow-motion. They call the games to the best of their ability. I think most are out there for their love of the game. I appreciate them tremendously.

Then ... there are others. To watch them call a game against Whitehaven will push your trust in basic human decency. I don't know if they have agendas or not. Sometimes, it seems like it.

Maybe i'm missing something. Maybe i'm being over sensative because its happening to my beloved Whitehaven Tigers. Maybe that's really what's going on. Maybe i'm imagining things.

    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
