I don’t think we’d have 7 to 10 state championships but we’d definitely have at least a couple. People see how successful we’ve been the past few years and their way of justifying it is that we cheat to do it instead of accepting the fact that we’ve just been better than than the majority of the teams who accuse us of recruiting. 2013 was our first pretty successful year in football for a while. 2011 was an ok year, but 2012 and practically every year before that we were terrible. 2013 Charlie Lansdell becomes head coach of CA and we start being good. The same players that had gone 5-6 in 2012 were back minus a few seniors in 2013 when they went 10-2. And the next year they lost a few more seniors but the only other new players were players that were freshmen. The reason we’ve been successful was because of the coaching change.

agree but if you get players and you get 3 to 4 players I mean studs, In 1a football you can win state championships you mix what you have and 4 studs to a 1 a team and you win a lot of games at some point people will start to notice that and then you get parents wanting there kids to come to a winning program and then you have a great team and when you have a solid team with a lot of kids in the pipe line state championships will happen. Leads back to one thing C.A. DOES NOT CHEAT..C.A, HAS DONR THIS GREAT RUN WITH WHAT WE HAVE I GIVE ALOT OF CREDIT TO THE YOUTH FOOTBALL PROGRAM AND GOOD COACHING...AND A SPECIAL GROUP OF KIDS...DID THIS IN A BIG HURRY THE OLD COACH

Not just football. It is great when you can get 3-4 on a basketball team to make a deep run too, am I right?

To sit behind the screen and, I am assuming straight-faced, put it out there that recruiting has not and does not occur is what blows my mind. CA has talent, and has always had talent in one or more sports, and I will never dispute that. I will never dispute the quality of coaches that they have had and currently have for their teams. I just cannot believe that the arrogance runs so deep that it is so easy to dismiss/ignore/pretend recruiting of players/families.

It’s not arrogance. It’s pride. CA was bad at football throughout the entirety of it being a sport at CA aside from a few average years. Most every private school does recruit now adays, but we pride ourselves on the fact that we have finally got something going in our football program and have done it the right way. That’s why we defend the fact that we don’t recruit so heavily, because many of us went through years and years of disappointment in production On the field and now we finally have success.

So are you conceding that you do recruit? Just not as much as other private schools?
