I never said regular season.  Jamboree is just fine.  Just shows your true intent for saying such, IMO.  I think our schedule speaks for itself.

Gallatin needs to go back to hosting their own jamboree like they have for years.

Not sure about Arias but Bobby gets there soon after he plays 18 holes at the club.

Beech had 3 visible backs that were visible because of their scheme. Beech runs the I and the Wing T, which puts multiple running backs on the field at a time. That is why its seems that they have the better athletes. I however still feel that Gallatin has the overall better athletes as a team.

Having played both Beech and Gallatin this season, I can vouch that the Wave has just as good of athletes as Beech. The differences were coaching and discipline, which go hand in hand, and it wasn’t even close. That’s my perspective from our two ball games.

I can answer a few of these.

The head coach has the final say on his assistants.  As long as there is a teaching position there that can be filled, the headvoach gets someone whom he feels can do the job.

The administration is very big on discipline.  Gallatin has always been big on discipline and there are plenty of examples.

The football program gets x amount of funds and then generates their own money.  They use it as they see fit.  The QB Club is there if they need something extra.

I do not know how assistants are paid or what you can do to compensate them.  The TSSAA has a rigid criteria on what you can do and can’t do and these rules have to be followed. You don’t want to get into anything like Blackman did a few years ago.

I know most of the coaches I have talked to loved the tradition rich school.  They loved the practice facilities and weight room.  The offices are in great shape and the locker room is too.  The fieldhouse has been renovated just this year at the stadium.  Also the QB Club is very active and your support structure is in place.  You have a stadium dedicated to football only, no it is not on campus but that adds to the allure and nostalgia.  How many places are playing football on the same field 100 years later?  Gallatin still is!  You have a hungry fan base and traditionally great team support.  I am sure there are other things like the businesses that feed the kids and such.  You also have a radio station dedicated to live coverage of your ball games.

GWave, granted I get the tradition rich off campus field situation. Had Boyce Smith had better amenities such as better parking, better locker rooms and maybe even a field house, we may never have left but there was no room there for that. That being said, these last two seasons playing in our new place has been spectacular.  It really feels like home, and it has its own special feel.

I liked the new stadium but still prefer the nostalgia of the older one.  Having a corporate sponsor like Suddenly Service definitely helps!  The only thing I did not like was the small visitor side.  I know Gallatin fans spilled over onto the home side.  But Gallatin has no room for a field on campus and the school board is not going to spend $4 or $5 million to build one either.

I look at Springfield as a perfect model.  It took them along time to get the right coach in Wilson and look what the payoff has been.  Those other coaches were good coaches but not the right fit.  The dynamics have not changed in 25 years and results are better.  No reason to think that Gallatin, no matter what some outsiders may think, can not do the same.  Absolutely no reason!!!

How did interview go with Bobby?

GO JACKETS!

It was going fine but Bobby was running late.  When he got there it went to heck!!  Started talking about the state title win in 78’ and something about cigars.   Then we ventured into burgers and beer.  From there it was a name game of college referees and who used to be in the Rebel outfit at Ole Miss. It was a disaster!

Gallatin, does your school schedule ALL your football players so they all have the last period of the day for PE?  R'dale did that so the players could go straight from PE (weight training) EVERYDAY to practice.

LOD let me tell you what I know, which ain’t much in this department.  As of the recent past they lift, mandatory unless you were in another sport.  They lift through spring and summer except for dead period when they are on their own.  They also lift during the season.  Specifics, I cannot give you that.
