If some of us told EVERYTHING we knew it would kill the advantages.  LOL

BTW Bounder, just how does it look from the VISITORS side?  After all that's how some of us get to see it.

Well LOD trying to sound positive  ... it looks the same are the LAST time you were here and saw it. Nothing new still the same. We'll let everybody figure out for themselves when was the last time Riverdale played at "The Ship"!

At HVA track meet seen a couple of your guys. J. Mitchell is out and looks good. Graham is healthy and won 100 meters (with bad start) against some of areas best. Ran 10.9. Shot out of cannon in 4x200 came back to win that. Didn't see the other kid that played football but was told he just got back out. I do know Pendergrass ran against HVA @OR but didn't see him at HVA.  I know we have over 100 kids at HVA for track but good to see football players out too at OR.

2004 when Rankin threw the game so the Coach now at LaVergne had a shot at the 5a championship.  Y'all really should have won that Gold Ball but your Coach did like usual.  HE CHOKED!

Thank You T$$AA..........................NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Looking forward to playing OR this coming season.

Should be great practice for both teams and help for the playoffs.I worry with how people are not going to games anymore college and high school that a lot of people wont make the trip.I love going to away games so I cant wait.

Yes, but it was actually 2005 season, semifinals. Rankin's last at RHS with the younger Thomas brother at QB and Gaston Miller at RB. OR had the Gulmire brothers as QB/RB. 17-0 W for the Wildcats.

Graham is a natural track runner and a heck of a football player. As far as Mitchell is concerned, he had a down year in football (compared to his junior year). He seemed slower and made much less of an impact than I expected. After his junior year I expected him to get offers from many places so I'm not sure what happened. I think he's an excellent football player who should've focused more on football (if college football was a goal). Otherwise, if he loves running track then that's another story since you're only in high school once. Either way, I'm glad Graham got healthy and I'm glad Mitchell got a football scholarship!

I think it's stupid scheduling and we have no business playing them. Our head coach needs to have his head examined. Our team won't gain ANYTHING by playing this stupid game...and look when we play them...right before Powell and Fulton!!!!!  STUPID! STUPID!! STUPID!!!

Now watch the "know it alls" get on here and tell me how it will help OR prepare for the playoffs!!!!!  BULLCRAP!!!!!!!  Why won't HVA, DB, Farragut, West, Powell, and Fulton be enough to do that???????

Last year the problem was playing too many tough games at the start of the season. Now we have it too tough at the end of the season. I truly believe that Coach Gaddis will never be able to satisfy you.

As for using regular season games to prepare you for the playoffs, I would think the more tough games the better. However, I really don't know much about football so I won't give an opinion.

On the subject of break away speed, I posted a tweet asking for names of any Wildcats with speed and got no response. We either don't have any or people just don't care to tweet with me.

Absolutely right!  Mr. Football runner and Rankin insisted on throw, throw, throw that night when all year it had been run, run, run!  Thing is Gaston had been making some good gains on the ground.  Now you know why even his assistants say he THREW the game.  Y'all had a passing game, while we were one or two tops passing every game.  Thomas was lucky if he could hit himself in the butt with both hands.  On his long pass attempts it was heave and pray one of our receivers ran under it.

Kendall Jackson, rising sophomore, has good genetics in the speed department. Looked great in Freshmen highlights on both sides of the ball.  Johnathan Stewart is fired up for the season and has wheels. The Johnson brothers are talented and swift. Rowe and Romano after breaking through the line will be a handful to take down. Finally, our QB Mitchell is a smart runner. As a freshmen he ran wild in the open field. Last season, he focused on the passing game. Maybe this season he will put it all together.

Yes, no Sweet Feet, Pendergrass, Booker and several others but MAYBE we will have players step it up.

If not, my 55 year old fat #### will suit up.

OK Willie, I'll "tweet" with you. Jackson seems very talented but I'm not sure how fast he is. Stewart isn't fast at all. The Johnson brothers seem to be of average speed but very talented. Rowe and Romano are both powerful with good size but neither seems to have speed. Your 55 year old ### may be the fastest player we have.

    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
    • All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
    • No my fight, but ... if they were already college-caliber prior to transferring to BHS, and they already had FBS interest, and they end up at an FBS school, how did Bearden do anything for them?
