Wow. They threw it a lot for a jr high team. I can see why though. That kid is good. That play around the 2:30 mark near the goal line where he saw the flat route covered, scrambled, and kept his eyes up to hit the guy in the end zone was really impressive.

I didn't watch any middle school ball last year, but I don't think HC has ever started a freshman at QB. In fact, sophomore starters at the position have been rare. Would be kinda surprised if it happens now, unless as Patriot Nation said, this incoming kid's talent is just off the charts.

He is that kind of talent! By the time he is a Junior and Senior I wouldnt be suprised if he has D1 offers out the butt! Also found where he is the #1 ranked QB in the State of Tennessee for the class of 2023!

I found his Twitter account. Pretty impressive. Also plays seven on seven with some elite team out of Memphis. Apparently he’s a baseball and basketball player too. This just keeps getting better. I still don’t know if he can start as a freshman in 5A football, but he looks as good or better than the spring QB now in my opinion.

I know what you mean about being a freshman starting in 5A is a tall task. But my opinion also he is the best QB we have all around

I don’t know enough about the upcoming junior to really speak on it, but from what I saw in the spring and watching those highlights I tend to agree with you. He looks to have good size, I wonder if he’s grown anymore since football season?

    • there will be a couple of teams, that could make some noise
    • Dyersburg may win back to back to back championships. They are going to be hands down the best 3A team. Plus their District/region/sectionals are not very good. They basically just have to make it to region out of a 5 team district that has a few decent teams. South Gibson will be okay but they graduate their best player and there is nobody in the region 7 or region 8 who is going to compete with them.
    • I remember very well watching things change in the late 80's and yes it's all schools. Most people that are in charge today have any idea because they were raised and taught under this social experiment so they don't have a clue. Anyone that does see the truth for what it is usually try and hide it by blending in so that the School Gestapo doesn't round them up and take them to the Fuhrer ( kindly putting it ). Yes it is all schools not just Maryville. This train ride is not headed in a good direction and if the public had seen a movie of what's happening now back in 1980 everyone would have been headed home afterwards to change underware.
    • Hoping to make the playoffs.
    • You are so correct!  It’s really 99.9% of academia want to change to way that education is not only taught but the way it is viewed.  The pendulum has definitely swung as far to the left as possible and eventually will swing to the right much too far.  I have always  said that politics and one’s personal religious views need to stay out of education,  but for the last 40 years education has been running full throttle to what we have today.  If the social experiment that we are currently experiencing continues it is only a matter of time before the public school system in the USA completely collapses and all kids attend private schools or even worse don’t go to school.
