It was a good game till that ref took over the last 25 seconds. That was not an intentional foul. Catholic’s freshman played well but so did Maryville. The action in fourth with both teams hitting clutch shots was playoff feel.

Terrible call on the intentional foul. I thought it was a smart play on our part. Nothing flagrant, just a foul to prevent a layup to tie the game. Didn't even break the stride of the Maryville player. I really like Coach E but how does a coach come out 15' on the court pleading for an intentional foul? Seemed suspect when the refs talked and the foul was changed from a common foul to an intentional.

Is it as surprising when the referee assigner’s son is the assistant AD at Maryville? It’s quite incredible that they seem to get every call in close district and regional game.

District 1 is incomplete.  Everyone in the district has played at least six district games.

This should be the real standings.  :-)

  3. Science Hill 5-1, 10-11

I've noticed if the schedule doesn't have the "D" for District Game, it doesn't tally correctly. You can send a note and the Coach T people will fix the schedule.

In District 1 tonight, DB beat Science Hill for the third time this season (counting a non district matchup in the Arby's Classic).  All three games, DB won by 10 points.  Cherokee got their first district win of the season downing Volunteer, and Daniel Boone takes clear control of the 4 spot beating Crockett.  Tennessee High beat Sullivan East in non district action in the "Battle of Weaver Pike".

Tennessee High now has the top spot on head to head tiebreaker with DB.  After tonight, here are the district standings:

  1. Tennessee High 5-1, 18-5
  2. Dobyns Bennett 6-1, 18-3
  3. Science Hill 5-2, 10-12
  4. Daniel Boone 3-4, 8-9
  5. Volunteer 2-5, 5-15
  6. David Crockett 2-5, 5-15
  7. Cherokee 1-6, 5-15

    • Problem with DB football goes beyond coaching. Like Waco said. Thr band is the main focus of their community and school. They have the resources to be a championship level team. Guarantee Ballard or Witten could have them nationally relevant at some point but everyone down to peewee would have to buy in and at DB we all know that would never happen.
    • I know the RB from OR he’s fast and has good hands. Is good on special teams also. Didn’t want to play defense over to the Ridge.
    • Lieutenant Flip flops is on a roll. #1 recruiter in Anderson Co, fo-sho.
    • Has there been any effort to contact college coaches other than Trevecca?
    • 5star put out and article about the QB competition for Clinton like they have 9 other schools. They listed a QB that was previously on Powell’s roster last year. He was the Frosh that could throw great wearing number 5. He was not mentioned as a transfer.  HC was quoted in getting two running back transfers one being from OR that has been mentioned on these boards as well as another from TKA.  I had heard about these and more transfers. It is impressive that Clinton is able to steal away from the recruiter at Powell.  I wonder if the issue with the principal will change that or open the gates even more.
