Mt. Juliet High School to get new synthetic turf football field

Mt. Juliet High School principal gave information to the Wilson County Board of Education about the synthetic turf Jan. 9 at the school board’s meeting.  MJ received an anonymous donation of $500,000 to lay the turf and seeks to raise an additional $300,000 for the project.  The field will be a light-green field with dark-green stripes and black end zones.

Make sure you own the rights to the logo, if you put one on the field. It cost a school in East Tennessee $25,000 to replace the logo on their field. 

Here is the Memphis logo cut in half with the original half flipped over and rejoined.

Not unless an anonymous donor steps up and gives them $500,000 like they did at MJ.

County isn't paying for that.

If there is one thing MJ can do it is raise money. Football fieldhouse and baseball building prove that.

NO County $$ involved in either. Wilson County is notoriously cheap. They have  terrible pay in relation to their cost of living. Any tax increase is voted down quickly.

At least until the new school zones are drawn. Mt Juliet is supposed to go down to 1500 kids. Green Hills 1700.  Lebanon 1800. Wilson Central 1500.
