Gibson County travels to Memphis to face MBAX. I think we can take care of business but it may be closer than people expect. GC by 14.

I watched them last night. Forget all the running clock talk and the Memphis teams can't play talk. They hadn't seen this team obviously. They shoot lights out uncontested. They shoot bad contested. Good post play. Not as good as Peabody and TCA but very physical. Hillcrest drew some charges. I exprect GC to do so also. They turned the ball over pretty often and neither team pressed. They are quick and athletic. But I think we will press them and guard them like they have never seen before and that will be the difference. I expect our press to affect them much like it did Union City in the first round. But they are a good team. I think we need to make it a track meet and play super fast and wear them down. I think we need to attack in the paint and get the post in foul trouble because she can play. Very important for us to get off to a good start. Hadn't last two games. GC will have the crowd as well. I know Mitchell beat them early in the year by 24. Melrose beat Mitchell by 1 in one of their three games. TCA beat Melrose by 30 or so in the Hub City.

Won’t even be close! GC by 20+ !  Only reason I say 20+ instead of 30+ is if GC comes out playing nervous cause of where the game is! Top 4 from Region 7-A played in substate last week! 2 teams from Memphis shouldn’t even be in it! Book your hotels if you haven’t already! These 2 games will prove once again why Region 7-A is the toughest in the State!

Have you se them play? Memphis Business is talented. I do think GC's pressure and press could be the difference in the game. They turned the ball over often in a zone against Hillcrest, so there is going to be TO's. Memphis Business is extremely athletic. Will be a good test

GC Yal are playing the Same team we played last year and it was 30 at half.

Hopefully they just played good the other night because they were sent pressured. TO's are the plan!!!

    • Im pretty excited about the new rules that NFHS voted to adopt. Does anyone know if this will take place in Tennessee starting this year? I think I heard/read somewhere that the TSSAA bi-laws say the have to mirror what the NFHS does, and when the NFHS offered the current weight classes as options, TSSAA didn’t adopt them until NFHS made them official. Did NFHS make these changes official starting next season or will it be similar to the weight classes where TSSAA doesn’t change what they are doing until it is  an officially official part of the NFHS rule book? It’ll be interesting to see if it is rolled out for the new TSSAA Middle School season and I saw a post where the youth wrestling in TN was going to vote on adopting it as well.  I’ll pray for all the youth coaches that will have to shoulder the confusion from all those crazy #### parents who already think they know the rules more than everyone else  . Imagine the first time their kid is taken down and a 3 goes up on the scoreboard or their kid gets pinned with only one point of contact in the cylinder. Their heads might explode. i kid, I kid. Sort of. I’m surprised ride time was brought down with all the other changes. I know some argue that it promotes stalling on top, but its been an official scoring method in college forever, so I figure it must be doing something right. Do any of you think that’ll ever be implemented?
    • Crazy how the thread just gets deleted when facts come out.
    • I understand I guess it depends on the school you are with and the time you want to put in.  It’s evident of the schools that don’t put in as much times.  I would say basketball players put in as much time as any sport in our school system and this is coming from a football town.  Bball is a longer season than other sports.
    • 7 Pages of complaining because the lacrosse team put removable lines on the field so that they could practice/play lacrosse  Y'all boys are bored huh lol
