All kidding aside it will be a battle for sure most games lately have been very close. Our offensive line doesn’t have much experience but hopefully will get much better in next few weeks. We’re beating Crockett County 3-0 in second half of jamboree. Jv is in now

I agree. Will be a war. Crockett is supposed to be tough this year. Glad your guys played well.

Is Westview going to have anything with the new coach or will they still be a bottom feeder?

Westview's offense is very talented. We all know what the Simpson kid can do and they should be able to protect him up front. Simpson has a few playmakers to  get the ball to as well. I question their defense. In this region you've got to be physical and play D. Will be very interesting to see how their season plays out. Can they win this region, No, but they may be able to sneak into the playoffs.

You know, as I recall, people on this board were picking everybody but Covington to win 7-3A in each of the two previous years. Milan and South Gibson were mentioned in threads on Coach T as probable winners of this region. I think some of y'all are "experiencing deja vu all over again", as somebody once said.  Some of the discussion sure sounds familiar.

I look at this from an admittedly biased viewpoint, and I could be wrong, but I do believe that Covington will be heard from pretty strongly in 7-3A. I'll be glad to congratulate the winner if somebody else proves to be the region champ.

Let the games begin!

You recall wrong. Two years ago yes. But last year covington was far and away the favorite and everybody knew it. Now should you guys be the favorite this year?  Until someone proves otherwise yes. But there are som good teams in this region this year. Gonna be a tough row to hoe.

    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
